Well, apparently the Paducah poster isn't interested in discussing the matter and only wished to judge me and attempt to malign my character, LOL.

Personally, I am not racist. My opinion of others forms from their individual actions and behavior, not their skin color, religion, or nationality.

However, when it comes to the KKK, has anyone ever considered how many of the members were influenced as young children to think as they do by their parents? How many had a childhood that might have helped contribute to them growing up angry with feelings of hatred, or with a need to be a part of some type of group simply to have a sense of belonging?

Am I saying I support the KKK, or the Black Panthers for that matter? No, I am not. Although, I do think they have a freedom to believe as they choose as long as it doesn't escalate into unprovoked violence against others, or any attempt to forcibly push their agenda on others. I am simply saying the KKK is made up of other human beings which all have been affected in some way by their surroundings and society. Why is there seemingly no compassion for these individuals as human beings?

If you get too close to a group, you will lose all doubt that they purposely feed hate mongering between races. They know who's an easy mark, gullible, ignorant enough to enroll. In Cinci area, I learned that a male member could request that fellow klansmen beat his wife whom he suspected of cheating.

The good news for a lot of posters here is that the Klan doesn't use an IQ test for membership. They check your pulse, you tell them you hate anyone different than you and you're in! Yeah!

If you know anything about the KKK history, it doesn't always include racist antics. In the early years it was formed to take care of the scum in local society. If there is a chapter in Jackson County, I would advise them to take out scum like Randy Vickers, Ronnie Hicks and any supporters they might have.

Of course I could be wrong. Isn't the KKK kind of like the masons as far as only allowing men to become members? They are also anti-homosexual too, aren't they?
Hmm...apparently I need to brush up on my knowledge concerning the KKK! Maybe one of the 'knights' or whatever will drop by to answer some questions.
no masons are nothing like the kkk we are a charitable oriented organization remember all Shriners are Freemasons no man can be a Shriner that's not a Freemason we have African Americans in our fraternity granted kentucky doesn't have a lot of them but we do have some

Oh, that's probably better, self appointed law enforcement-judicial prosecution-punishment all wrapped into one. So they're accepting black, Asian and Hispanic members now?

According to some sources I found...the KKK also welcomes African Americans in some of their chapters. Reportedly there are some African American members. However, it seems that Freemasons and the KKK differs in that some KKK chapters also welcome women.

I wasn't trying to compare Freemasons to KKK.

I asked the question..."Isn't the KKK kind of like the masons as far as only allowing men to become members?"

I have since found out some KKK chapters say they do allow women members; so yes, apparently you are correct, there is a big difference in the KKK and Freemasons, LOL.

Yeah, I am aware of the Eastern Stars. I think men and women both join the exact same group and attend the exact same meetings in some of the KKK chapters though.

Considering I am just naturally curious when it comes to most things, I do have a question, LOL. Would a man be allowed to join the Eastern Stars?

Let's say, for example, someone like the poster "5th Grader" has decided joining the Eastern Stars would be a good opportunity to pick up "chicks"...are there any rules similar to those that prevent a female from becoming a member of the regular lodge which would prevent a male from becoming an Eastern Star?

Never mind "Mason"...I did a little research myself. According to all the sources I found, both men and women can join the Order of the Eastern Star.

I was just thinking a little, then had to put a towel over my head because of all the smoke. But anyway I have met a few people that when they were young their parents were racist and they grew up liking other races and I've seen them grow up just like their parents not liking them. I've seen kids grow up that their parents weren't racist at all and they grew up and either had bad experiences or just didn't like them. If you look hard enough you will see about every race there is has some kind of hate group hell the Canadians and Native Americans probably have their own. Hating people for little differences has been the way of humans for thousands of years, and there will be groups hating each other when we are all long gone as well. I have met a few Klansmen that were decent and others that were well morons to say the least. It's not a group I would want to join mind you there way to easy going.
Seriously WTF

The klan will not let a non white non Protestant join their ranks. There are black and Hispanic separatists that financially support the kkk an they are honorary members and receive free newsletters from them. They are never aloud to go
to the rally's or meetings though.

LOL, quandry =*quandary

----------

Can anyone explain how the KKK defines "white" as far as membership eligibility?

Is eligibility based on appearance alone? Or, do they approve membership based upon the word and knowledge of ancestry of the potential future member? Do they dig into genealogy records, do DNA testing, or etc...?
