I have been riding for a long time and you just cannot trust the automobile drivers. they don"t respect us or pay attention to us out there. We have the same rights. back off

I agree with you mike! People just need to back off in general! Everyone is in such a hurry to gain the extra 2 mins off their ride home. Just back off! I have family on these roads, no one has the right to take their lives just to get home 2 mins earlier. When will people learn!!!!!

People who ride motorcycles need to not be so defensive, and drive defensive. It's not because anyone wants to hit a motorcycle, we can't see them! I personally would be devastated if I ever hit a motorcycle, but sometimes they hide in your blind spot, etc. Mike mentions that you cannot trust the automobile drivers. Good! Drive defensively! Please! Oh, and wear a helmet!

Spoken like a true NON-biker.

You don't see the bikes, Jen, because YOU are not paying attention. The vast majority of bike accidents occur when cages (cars) pull out in front of bikes. People in cars (equipped with airbags) are careless; they eat, drink, talk on the cell, fiddle with the radio/CD/DVD--and they don't PAY ATTENTION.

Do your homework before you make uneducated statements.

Don't pick on Jen. She has some valid points. I'm a responsible biker. I DO drive defensively. Guess what, I've seem some pretty irresponsible bikers out there too. How many times have you seen somebody rocket by you at over 80 - 90 mph. The responsibility goes both ways. I'm not saying that autos are not to blame in some instances, but I've seen many (granted, mostly younger kids)bikers drive pretty irresponsibly. I've been hit while in my car too. I was completely stopped, at a light when it happened. I kept thinking man, if I was on my BIKE when that happened it would have been another story. It was a little old lady. What are you going to do? You gotta ALWAYS be on the alert and expect the worst.
