Red Lights on 75 On Ramps

Can anyone explain how the red lights on the 75 on ramps work? I have seen them from Forest Pkwy all the way through Stockbridge. I just can not figure out what purpose they will serve. Any ideas????

those lights work like the ones in atlanta do they are being used to try and help with the traffic. they only allow one car to go at a time its crazy. they are putting them on ramps that dont even need them. just another waste of out tax payers money if you ask me. but supposidly on a two lane ramp they flash red and green and allow only one person to go at a time. seems like they would cause more traffic problems on the ramps.

Yeah,especially the one at Jonesboro Rd at Southlake Mall-going south.There is no room now for you to merge.Now lets stop the traffic and well tell you when to go.....Good Luck with that one!!!And I hope that you have a FAST MOVING vehicle when that light turns green.Cant we spend our money on other more important things?
