Pellet plant options land: Citing economy, Liberty sawmill cuts back
A wood pellet company paid Pike County $10,000 this week for an option to buy 10 acres in the Metro-Pike Industrial Park, officials said Thursday.

I have to agree with all the negative statements that are being written about the town. You'd think that someone with any kind of authority would see these comments as a red flag, and would do something to change the impression that so many have of the town. I think if they actually had any pride in their town, they would do just that. Those with authority should look at it as a responsibility they took on when they chose to be a leader in the community.. because it is a responsibility of theirs. Too many people have left, and too many are just waiting to. I made the choice to leave several months ago and i have no regrets at all.My grass grows much greener now, and my children have involvements that would never have come to pass if i had stayed. Where we now call home, activities are abundant, volunteer's are screened, and life is sweet....
