What would you like to see come to McArthur? What doesnt prosper here? What is a need in McArthur?

I'd love to have a laundry mat in McArthur, we already have enough pizza places, gas stations, restaurants, and bars!

there needs to be some kind of place for our youth. project boost is there for the kids but the high school students need a positive atmosphere to hang out at. it seems all we have is bars and the library now and even there hours are shut down. churches are one answer and while i have absolutely nothing bad to say about that not all people will be drawn to that. a game room that could be controlled unlike before would be amazing or even just a program like the old camp viking would be great

Re-open Richland Furnace to public recreation with atvs and 4x4's. The Hatfield McCoy Trails in West Va make a killing and are a huge tourist draw. Richland used to be the same way, you just need to monetize it. Charge a season membership or day passes starting at $5-10 per vehicle/atv.

But it won't happen, it makes too much sense.

There is no laundry mat. Hasnt been in operation for quite some time. I too would love to see something for families. Indoor pool, another movie theater, and i would love a dinner & a movie (comedy or family fun) but that seems unreal for VC. Game rooms never last, plenty of pizza, gas on every corner... I went to a place called Thomas' Fair Play as a child and loved that place! It was a smaller Chucky Cheese. Mr Gatti's is great too. Would love that in VC! A pizza buffet while watching local talent perform (family, comedy, date night) on stage. Seems too big for us but it would be great i think!

It's always fun to dream, but none of these places will ever exist!

You can be a dreamer or turn your dreams into reality. Either way it's what makes life in a small town more pleasant. Have fun with it!

I would love for Mcarthur to have a bakery-a real one! Not like the one in supervalu. I mean one that can make a delicious birthday cake and various other bakery items for a reasonable price. And that they would accept foodstampts too. Because Vinton County is poor and having a place to get a beautiful and delicous birthday cake would be freaking awesome!

If you have to use food stamps, go to the supermarket and buy the ingredients to make a cake. Lazy people

It wouldn't be worth it to the owner, if you're wanting something cheap. I used to own a Bakery-cakery and it's super expensive to run!

I have never been to a drive in, they are a thing of the past. But i would love to see it recreated. Even if it was just a screen at the park. Obviously a summer thing, but you could do a new movie on the weekend and charge. Get the local food vendors to set up and sell food. Then for the smaller kids, run an old cartoon one night a week for free. I wouldn't mind paying little extra if i knew it would help give kids something to do. Plus you wouldn't have to drive!
