Should Backyard Chicken Coops be Allowed in Bolingbrook?

Whether Bolingbrook residents should be allowed to raise chickens in coops in their backyards has "never come up," according to Bolingbrook Village Attorney James Boan.

Absolutely, it should be allows. Communities all over the country are allowing this now with much success. With sensible regulation regarding the number of chickens (6 or less) and a NO ROOSTERS policy to prevent any potential noise issue this would not be a problem.

The states largest chicken coop already exists here in bolingbrook. Its perimiter is completely fenced off. A few chickens still get out. Just off lilly cache. Fernwood check it out sometime. Drive through there with the family throw chicken feed out your windows. The kids love it. Best time for viewing is the summer months. The chickens are most active then

I grew up in the deep south (Pearl Miss.) I wonder if any you ever been around a chicken coop? lots of fun and stink and mess... We have Chick Fillet, Browns and Popeyes Chicken and several grocery stores selling eggs ...I don't need a rooster crowing at 530 am every day to wake me up!
