Does anyone ever notice how the murder rate always goes up when this countery is at war. Seems to me the U.S. has been at war with the people since public opinion went against the Vietnam War, look at the laws that have been passed since then and how the Politicians opened up the doors to immigration and the idiotic stance against Hemp. Do I want kids smoking Pot, No, but I don't want them drinking alcohol either. The economy is in the tank due to the high cost of fuel, that stress alone is causing people to act out. We could end our fuel crisis and help the greenhouse effect by growing low grade hemp and making a renewable bio diesel fuel from the oil produced by it. Will that end murder, NO but we'd all be under less stress. And rope made from hemp fibers is superior to nylon rope, not to mention the clothing made from it. Oh ya mabe the price of corn would go down too.

People are not manufacuturing guns in their basements and bedrooms. When is there going to be a crack down on gun manufacturers with tighter controls over the sale of guns to small shops and then a crack down on the guns shops. Obviously the people selling guns have not had a family member be a victim of gun violence.

@dumbasz, not all of the people you hear of in the news were shot because they were in a gang or on drugs. There are many innocent people, including children, people minding their own business, in their homes, walking down the street, sitting in their cars and they get shot. Anyone who pulls a trigger and kills someone should be put away for life or better yet - eye for an eye!

Maywood is rougher, and has a higher crime rate, than 95% of the city.

you must be clueless.

you ever heard of cal city, markham, harvey, chi heights, maywood, cicero?

shoot people get bucked at in Evanston fairly regularly, considering it's considered North Shore. Even Northeast Palatine and Wheeling have shootings.

Gangs are all over chicagoland to certain degress and they all have guns.(obviously, i'm not talking about naperville, schaumburg, vernon hills, or Lake Forest)

Glad he got a real job, however, suspects are usually puzzled when he jumps up and yells "Let's do the time warp again!" in the interrogation room.

No, but the people are being shot by gangbangers and career criminals and I agree with you, an eye for an eye, especially when it's some poor innocent child caught in gang crossfire-death penalty!!

I know if I ever want to muder anyone in Chicago I'll certainly use a gun. That way the gun maker, the gunshop, and the NRA will take the blame and I'll walk free because no one will even be looking for me.

this is so terrible that this had 2 happen to somebody so young and so early in the day! the day barely started!! i feel so sorry for this guys family. I was raised in maywood and currently still living here and it was not like this at all when i was young.I dont even like going outside that much anymore because maywood is just reckless now.I mean if somebody cant wake up in the morning and go 2 the store then there is a serious problem and maywood police just dont seem 2 be doing there job well enough.1st of all they let 2 much evidence get away every time theres a murder and then they dont ask enough questions! basically they dont know how to investigate a murder. This is the worst i have ever seen maywood i never knew it could get like this either.I'm only 17 i have my whole life ahead of me and with me being in this unsafe neighborhood i just pray that i make it out.People now a days dont give to shits about where you are, who u are, what time of day it is..once they target you, thats it. A little kid could have been there at the scene and the bullet could have hit them..and if didnt that would not be a healthy image for a young child to see somebody die right there in front of their eyes. I just pray for my city and the people in it..please be careful everybody

thats true. not EVERYBODY that gets shot is in a gang..but lately, the murders that have been happening the majority were in gangs or affiliated with people in gangs

im sorry but i cant help but 2 keep writing on this message board...its juss driving me crazy because people are doing reckless and stupid things!! 9/10 the reason that boy got killed was over something petty..juss like the boy at the taste got killed over a spilled drink. im now really beginning to understand what my mom is talking about..this world is seriouslt coming to an end rather you all believe it or not..in the book of revalations they stated signs that will occur in the world when its close 2 an end..more war with countries.more murders.more people turning their back on god.people trying 2 preach more often.and lots of natural disasters [does 9/11, hurricane katrina, earthquakes and all that ring a bell?] the government needs 2 be very strict on these gun salesmen. I believe guns were made stricly for protection not for revenge. I actually get nervouse when my little cousin goes outside 2 play, i even get nervous for kids that i dont even know that are walking home by themselves after school. im praying for everybody every day

So you think the gang bangers get their guns in those gun stores?

I REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR THE PERSON WHO WAS SHOT ON 9TH THIS MORNING,BUT MAYWOOD IS THE WORST SUBURB IN THE WORLD TO LIVE IN I MOVED THERE IN THE WINTER AND THEY WERE SHOOTING. I THINK THAT THEY NEED TO INVEST IN SOME CAMERA'S OR BEEF UP PATROL IT'S TERRIBLE IN MAYWOOD AND I REALLY DON'T THINK THAT MOST OF THESE MURDERS ARE SOLVED, AND THEY CONTINUE TO HAPPEN IT'S A SAD SITUATION.
