My child goes to MCHS and I'm thrilled that all of her textbooks are on her iPad instead of her carrying two backpacks of books. I'm thrilled that her textbooks are constantly being updated. I'm thrilled that she is in constant contact with her teachers via social media. I'm thrilled that MCHS is using a site called Edmodo to get and submit class work back and forth instead of the school spending $40,000.00 a year on printing paper. In thrilled that my daughter will be better prepared to take online courses. I'm thrilled that even the knuckleheads in school has an iPad, because now instead of them disrupting class with their perverted comments, drawings and grabbing, teachers can more often capture their attentions with more hands on opportunities about content. I agree that some students don't deserve the responsibility of an iPad because they can't even keep up with their papers. However I am very thankful that Mason has progressive thinkers that wants our students to more chances of getting scholarships and jobs. When our economy drops with our debt, I want my child to have as many advantages over other job seekers that she can get. By the way the option to buy furthers their college assistance too, not to mention that technology becomes outdated soon and needs to be replaced. Be thankful and proud of this endeavor Mason County! I am.
