Marriage is Biblical. Bible repeatedly calls homosexuality a sin. Adults have freedom to choose Christs plan or not. I get that.
What I don't understand is why do the gays want to call their choice, marriage?, A person would think they would want to make up their own word and stay clear of Gods terms.

Gay marriage will be defined by law as determined by our government. The same system of law that protects gays also protects the Bible and its followers. It's all about fairness. The exclusion of people from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is not the American way.

Where is the exclusion if they come up with their own name. You haven't answered the question.
Given your philosophy government is more important than God and its ok to take non-Christian lifestyles and give them Christian names. If I were using Atheist phrases, Muslim phrases, Buddhist terms etc. many of you would be offended. Where is your respect for Christianity?

Marriage is not biblical if it were, only Christians would be married. Every country and religion has it's own version of marriage, what you read in the bible is just the Christian version.

Who's to say that one is better than the other?

Marriage has been defined in every culture as man and woman. period!!!!!and life liberty and (property) pursuit of happiness is directly from God. Our founders based this Repubublic on values directly from the Bible.no where else in human history has ever people been givin freedoms that ce directly from God like the Eeican experience . That's what makes the Foumdwrs so great is they knew rights come fr the Creator n not Government so government can't take those rights away just on a whim. Although we Americans hav allowed our rights to b taken over n over again. America is based on a moral society n once that is gone(faith n belief in the Creator) so is our country..Goodbye America..btw don't think we can rely on gays procreating the world..

Ignorance is in your ballpark. Separation
Of church and state is no where to be found in the constitution.

The declaration of Independence state separation from England and that the US is a new country. There were two ministers John Witherspoon and Lyman Hall. Hall was a doctor first and minister part time.

I think that you don't know that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are 2 separate documents. The constituion gives us our rights. Of the 39 signers (56 to the convention) only one was a minister and he was also a lawyer, Abraham Baldwin.

I think the confusion comes from Mike Huckelbee quoting David Barton of Wallbuilders. If you search out Barton you will find he has been error on a number of issues, most recently His biography of Thomas Jefferson. He is no longer considered a reliable source.

I hope this helps

I don't disregard the decleration of independance, nor do I disregard the bible. But that document was created by man, just as the bible was created by man, and anything man has a hand in I do question. Back then those same ministers owned slaves. A little farther back in time those ministers hunted down women and burned them at the stake claiming they were witches. Not very holy people if you ask me and not a religion I can believe in.

This is just a part of on critque of Barton. Do a search and you will find many more. His publisher took his book off the markets due to the errors. This is unusual because they will be losing a lot of money by doing this.

Kind credit to Billy Hallowell for this

Last week, numerous outlets broke the startling news that Thomas Nelson Publishers has canceled conservative historian David Barton’s book “The Jefferson Lies.” The publishing company is now claiming that the book — which like many of Barton’s projects encountered controversy and intense critique — has historical errors that were found to render it unsellable

Thomas Nelson is a baptist related christian publisher

Would you kindly prove that the bible was created by man. Man wrote it, but they claimed under the direct inspiration (creation) of God. Many books have been written on this, but a little proof here in topix would be very nice.

Thanks

I too question everything.thomas Jefferson said; SURELY IF THERE WERE A CREATOR HE WOULD WELCOME PEOPLE TO QUESTION W BOLDNESS RATHER THAN FOLLOW BY DEVINE FEAR...great quote...but to ignore that our founders didn't believe in God and that our concept of inalienable rights don't come from the belief In God then what can I say u all will believe what u want.thats the great thing about this country..Amen

So by your definition what ever the mind can think up should be allowed and legal otherwise it is a violation of rights? LOL!

What you read today is not the bible that was written by "inspired" men. What you have today is a bible that has been translated and twisted by men to suit their needs and beliefs. A good starting point for you to start at would be Emporer Constantine, he hacked up the bible to go with what he wanted his religion to be. He deliberately left out over 22 books (I could be a little off on this number but i'm close) because he felt they were uninspired. Why would he do this? I believe he did it because what the bible said in those books didn't go along with what he wanted the people to believe.

So yes the Original Bible may have been written by inspired men but what you have today is not the original bible. But it is a bible that has been chopped up, translated, and interpreted into a bible that suited who ever the ruler was at the time. Look at all the different offshoots of christianity. Catholic, Babtist, Methodist, etc... How can all those different views come fromt he same bible? Mans manipulation and translation of the bible into something that fits his views at the time.
