AMEN!! Try living somewhere else and compare it to the same. Why is Maysville an issue on here? I think you should look at Clayton County's government, its a joke and the fraud, waste and abuse would stagger your mind!!!

if we had something to say we would be shut up as soon as we spoke.maysville is run by good old boys.been here for 36 years.look at the beer by the drink it would give maysville good money due to druck driving.keep cops busy.there is to much good old brothers stuff here. love my town but hate what it has become.

lets sell beer and wine. it would help one maysville worker to go to 85 to buy beer for family member.it may help our town tobring in money not just police officers and tax payers.i know it a small town but look at keeping up with the jones.maybe we could even get a new doctor.

Perhaps we should consider closing the police department and save some money for the tax payers and let Banks and Jackson County take care of it. Better yet get rid of the mayor and council at the same time.

AMEN to that. It's a shame that the Baptist church runs the town and the major and council allow it. The pouring issue should have been about adults making a choice, not God and the Baptist church saying no. We have more drunk ddrivers comming through town from Gainesville and Commerce than people will admit. Get real this town will never prosper with the "good old boys" and the church running the town.

i agree with the word. i lived in maysville for 35 yrs and i have seen more good old boy stuff than ever in atlanta where i work everyday. i go pay my water bill and i am hit with please vote no for beer by the drink but i know that the worker that wants to vote no is driving there love one to beer store for beer.so let no church vote for us.there is more than baptist in maysville.get a new chief,new city hall workers,new recure workers and put maysville back to the good.

Ha your kidding right? The mayor and council can't get along, the DDA can't get it together or even attend a council meeting, read last months minutes...DDA - no one in attendance. Why should we have a dda when 90% of town would rather the buildings fall to the ground. This town will never get it together. Everybody in this town does judge each other, why else would the church boycote Sarah's? What a great group of Christians....not. As for the police..we should get rid of them and save thousands and thousands of taxpayers dollars. When the Chief of Police sits in his car talking to someone in a vehicle while a truck flys down the street (way about the 25mp posted sign) and runs the stop sign at the railroad tracks and he just sits there...why do we need them again. To fight crime you say, ha the Cheif can't even get out of his patrol car much less run someone down. The Chief does what the Mayor tells him to do. No one in this town will ever get people to cooperate because every one of them wants to be KING. Take the fall festival...always the same booths in the same spot and the foods are always the same, because they are run by the 'members of the maysville Community improvement club' so why should it change as long as those people are making their money. This town has really gone to the dogs...
