I actually never stated where these meetings would take place. But, if you get excitement out of stirring the pot that's fine, it still doesn't change the facts of what is. I just wonder how many others are going to crawl out of the woodwork about this character. It's sad, because from what i have been told he is a young man that has good opportunities in law enforcement starting early in life, but, having a lifestyle like this will surely land him in the headlines and inevitably end is career. Like most municipalities, the last thing wanted is attention of negative content. For example, an officer placing himself in a situation a town they work in, while on duty in a tax paid for police cruiser. Hopefully he just realizes the dangers he's flirting with and straightens up. I wish him the best, but only of he tries.
so when and where

Patience grasshopper. I'm sure if it is something as serious as this may or may not be it will surely take longer than a single week to resolve. When Greenfield had their issues it took nearly 6 months of investigations before action was taken. Of course their situation was much more serious. But, anyhow, i doubt 1 week is enough time to do anything. Innocent until proven guilty.I hope for this young man's sake this turns out to be nothing. However, it seems as though he has agitated a few women locally, since all of the vast details appear toi be emerging. Lets hope all ends well, Knightstown could use a break from the KPD drama.

It seems like Danny baker should be focusing on what idiot cops are doing than worrying about getting to town marshal job in Carthage. Danny was warned by many that Derek would be a mistake, but yet again Danny isn't the guy he was 20 years ago. It seems like his reputation has diminished severely. I'd still like to know how you fire a paid officer but yet turn around and bring back as a reserve?
you know alot

Idiots, you sure seem to know a lot about the situation. Derek is young, going to make immature mistakes. As long as he learns he can't being using his position as a way to "hook up" with women then it is no bother of mine. Cops do it in every town. Have done it for years. He has done nothing illegal that I can see from any of these claims. It is his job to patrol the streets of knightstown. If he ignored a street to not drive by a house, then they would complain that their part of town isn't patrolled. Didn't know Danny was trying to get the cpd job. That's a new one. I don't see Derek messing up and committing a crime anytime soon and "hooking up" with the opposite sex is not a crime in most cases. Enjoy your day, worry less, and smile more. Makes for a better day.

Well seems like if he's doing other things beside patrolling while on the clock. Would make it ghost employment. Not to mention an ethical issue if he's hired to a job then do it and quit whoring around with anything that will put out! Simple enough. The fact that Danny and the town board allows this to go on is another issue. Think they should clean house at the police department and start all over.

Then take your complaints to the council and complain and have it investigated.

Yeah because that will do any good! Anyone who knows small town politics knows that the good ole boy system is still in effect in todays society!

I agree and disagree. I believe if you are trusted, as an officer should be, a good one anyways, then these things shouldn't even be arising. It looks as though we have a few that has surfaced with the same issues. i could understand a disgruntled ex-whatever, but this appears to be more than that. I say to each their own, but when you're in a position like this, with control and authority like this, then things need to be different. It may be going on in departments everywhere, and for the most part people just don't know. But...when you make it obvious like this and the department head learns of this then action needs to be taken. I agree, he is young and will make mistakes, BUT, not at Knightstown's expense and safety. That's just ridiculous. There have been many young officers over the years and yes, a few stray across that line, and they need cut loose. He shouldn't be an officer, he has no dignity, self-respect, and obviously doesn't care about this town. Going to a council meeting would not fix anything. Clearly. Small town politics is corrupt. The good old fashion handshake, he's my brother, we grew up together, blah blah blah...same song and dance. There is right, there is wrong...PERIOD. What's going on here is complete disrespect to the very people who pay the wages, and support this town. Slap in the face. Derek and his short law enforcement career im sure will only be short-lived. With the way things are going eventually we won't have the leadership we have, and most likely the new Chief will not tolerate the skirt chasing antics, and flat get rid of Derek, if he isn't already gone by then. At that point he won't get a law enforcement job anywhere. A well-run department would not tolerate it. Besides, it's no secret that he got hired because he is the son of Danny's friend, which is coincidently an out of shape reserve as well. Ironic. The young lad needs to go, that's for sure. As far as the hiring back of the previous fired officer?? I'll leave that one alone, things go without being said on the issue, wow, is all i can say, what a winner of a choice.
