Does anyone know if they are taking attendance in the morning? They only go half a day.

I was told that they had to count attendance by the state. It counts towards the school year.

Yea they have to count attendance. I was told they stop at 10 though because that was as high as hey could count. Was also told by someone else that it wouldn't matter if a kid misses school, that he wouldn't miss anything anyway. Don't know if any of that is true, but it's what I heard.

It's a tale as old as school houses themselves. Teachers quite often mark stdents present on half days. I can't say I disagree with this practice as our children are rarely if ever given any school work or direction of any kind on those days. The state gets their money for our children's attendnce for that day and our esteemed( I use the term loosely) teachers get an easy day at work (also a term used loosely).
