Weather you're an outsider or have been here all your life, Maynard is a very old creepy little town. Does anyone have any ghost stories?

Some ppl who used to own a restaurant on the main strip once told me it was haunted. Appearantly, early in the mornings before anyone else arrived the bells would ring to indicate they had a customer. When they'd go around the corner there would be nobody in the restaurant but those working in the kitchen. I wonder if the new owners have had anything interesting happen. Has anyone heard?

I am very interested in hearing any ghost stories you may have about Maynard.

Dangit! I should have considered the source....grrrr, i hope the boogyman gets you for that.

But anyway, here's another one. MAYBE this wasn't you. You know the graveyard (the second one) on the right, on hwy. 166, heading toward Supply? Well i know of a woman who said she was passing by there early one morning headed to work and saw a man walking toward 328, just past the cemetary. As she watched him to make sure he didn't veer into the highway he faded and disappeared. Creeeeepy!

Oh no, i know her and she wouldn't have intentionally taken LSD...great, that only means that you probably gave it to her somehow. Geez! I'm starting to think maybe there are NO ghosts in Maynard!(sigh) How disappointing.

btw..in my last comment i said the second cemetary on the right...I meant the second cemetary on the left...sorry, too much LSD and I blame Joe.

I was parked with some friends not far from the house you're talking about one night and i saw lights quickly flashing past the windows from inside. I wondered if someone was inside but I didn't check... could have been flashlights but I'm not sure. It was winter so I knew it wasn't fireflies. It looked a bit creepy but I wish I would have walked up there.

when in high school one of my closest friends lived there she would tell me stories about stuff she would hear or see out of the corner of her eyes and i kinda didnt believe her sorry to say but one night i stayed over with her and after we had gone to sleep we where woke up to what first sounded like soft crying in the extra bedroom and something similar to wheels rolling across her bedroom floor then the door to the spare bedroom opened then slammed shut.now mind you these doors were not normal size doors they were wide enough to move old wheel chairs and hospital beds thru.yes the place was very old maybe even a lil drafty (not that i remember)but no freakin draft would move a door like that.her dad thought the crying sounds was us at first but when that door slammed he came running so it wasnt just us.

That's creepy! Thanks for the story! I also heard it used to be a school house. I always kinda thought something must have been going on there. We've lived in Maynard for about 15 yrs and (before it was torn down) it would stand empty for long periods of time and when someone would move in they wouldn't stay very long. It was constantly for sale.-could have been because it was a money pit too though. What about the land up the hill behind where that house was, was there ever anything there or was it always just woods? I've heard that there's a newer (within 20 yrs. old) house down the little gravel that goes up the hill beside where the old house used to sit. Someone said when they were building it constuction was slow because things would disappear from the site or be moved; paranormal things like that, supposedly. Know any history about the area?
