HI, I love this. A conversation that takes place over a period of years. Great. My Aunt Carnell reminded me of this post while we were attending my Aunt Maewood's funeral today. God bless you Aunt Mae.
are you talking about Maewood Wilder? My mom was Rachel (webb) Finley, and her sister was Aunt Susie Sparks, and aunt Susie was Aunt Maewoods mother, is this correct to you?

I just returned from a trip to Letcher County Ky.
the mountains are still as beautiful as when I left years ago. I did find the Sparks and Holbrook Cemetery that I have been wanting to visit for some time now. It is up a mountain at Bottom Fork and such a beautiful place, they do have a road cut up to it but it would take a truck getting up there, unfortunately I was driving a van to close to the ground to try to drive up. so I walked and a long one at that but the walk was really worth the time. I did find the grave sites of my great grandfather Ransom T Holbrook with his wife beside him Elizabeth Hughes Holbrook also the burial sites of my grandfather William Holbrook aka Uncle Bill as he was known to most people and that was something that was lost in my memory until I seen it written on his stone, he was buried between both of his wife's Mary Adams Holbrook my dad's mother and Malissa Adams his second wife, my uncle Melvin Holbrook was also buried there close to my grandfather. It was a very touching moment for me so I stayed for quite a while up there. It is such a beautiful place. If anyone out there is still looking for this cemetery it will be worth your while in taking the trip. I know I was not disappointed at all.
I am looking to go after the first of the year thanks
