Taylor is best fit. After the posting on the FCSO FB page with Shock saying how hard the job has become, I have no faith in his ability to least he department. After seeing the deputy charged with sexual assault, I don't want him leading it.

Andy is the better politician...he uses Channel 11 to his advantage for free press. People think the more you are on TV, the more competent you are.....false.

Taylor is the more experienced administrator. His work and military experience bet fit him to serve as Sheriff. His education and training best fit him to be creative in solving crime problems and thinking outside the box.

I do agree that Taylor is the more experienced and educated however, I do not agree in regards to Shock being at fault for the deputies who have been charged with sex crimes. The two of them were both employed by FCSO prior to Shock taking over. Also, criminal background checks are done prior to employment. If one hasn't broke the law before it obviously then won't have anything on the background check. When a teacher commits a sex crime, their Principal isn't attacked for hiring said person.

REALLY!! Shock was on channel 11 like years ago. And also Shock did not post on FB how hard his job was. He posted his responsibilities so the citizens would know what's going on. As far as the Deputy who was Fired and is being dealt with (who I hope gets the max punishment). There is scumbags in every carreer. Not all law enforcement officers are bad. Just like all priest are not bad. As far as Taylor, well, hmm let's see, he has no clue how to run a County of nearly 640 square miles. From what I understand Taylor has trouble handling things in his own department. What is Taylor a Major of in his department anyway?? Someone please answer and explain his current position. Also I have 100% respect for our brave veterans. But seems like politicians use the soldier thing as a ploy for election time. Oh, and the slinging mud, geeezzzz really!. Shock did not stoop to name calling and mud slinging the FIRST time he got elected and he is not using it this time either. Maybe somwone should do a little history on Taylor and see what they find. Again, what is Taylor a Major of at CPD?

You "suspect" Taylor has no clue to run a county of 640 square miles......we KNOW that Shock can't run a county of 640 square miles. Nuff said

Just a thought, I see people saying stuff like "I'm voting for taylor because I'm tired of getting my house broken into". Ok so you think Taylor is going to come set in your driveway and stop burglaries?. Thugs will be thugs. Sorry to burst bubbles but I don't think Taylor van stop County Crime. Theifs are Theifs. He talks about getting peoples stolen property back, I ask how? 90% of the people that report theft do not have any serial numbers for the items taken. Also I have seen increased patrol by Sheriffs vars all.over the County since Shick took office. I'm not usuallya political guy but all I hear are good things from the Sheriffs office. Shock has my vote AGAIN.

I see all the Taylor ads and videos etc. I see the Shock ads. I am aware of Shock and his Law enforcement history. What about Taylor? He says 20+ years experience, but how many departments has he went through and workd for? Is that normal to change jobs so much. I don't know I'm just curious about his work history. I know Shocks history is with the Sheriffs Department. Someone please help me with this question.

I don't want Taylor to come sit in my driveway, I want him to manage his staff and budget so patrol deputies are doing that. That is not being done now

If you want to know what Taylor's work history is, ask him

Yes, it is Shocks fault. If Shock would run the sheriff's office like a professional agency like the state police, and not under the good ol' boy system, these things would NOT happen. Just because they would be weeded out when they are candidates for employment, not after employment. These people would be found for what they are after deep background checks and polygraph examinations! If polygraph examinations are good enough to use on suspects that they think may or may not have committed a crime; they are good enough to test employment candidates. All Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies test employment candidates in this manor. It is 100% Shocks fault!

Oh yes Shock did stoop that low! There is a recording floating around how Shock is heard talking trash about Max Young and making threats to beat the hell out of Max! Don't believe me? Just ask Max and Shelly Young about it; I'm sure they will let you listen to the recording.

Shock is a thug who uses the sheriffs office to exact revenge on anybody who's ever so much as pissed him off. He referred to Mr. Smiths grandchildren in a negative, racially motivated way in order to antagonize him, and it worked. Then he went to court and put on a show for the judge asking for a sentence of 20 years, after he beat the man by over 4,000 votes. The judge saw right through it, and so did all rest of the county. He fired no telling how many deputies, and of the ones he kept, at least three have proven to be perverts. Then of course there's the jailbreak, and the false federal charges that he filed on the lesbian women at the jail. He has just got to go. If these are the results of him being sheriff for a year and a half, there's no way in hell I want to let him have it for two more. Andy's going to lose and it's going to be his own fault. He's made a fool of himself and our county and it's finally about to end.

I'm afraid that Big country is actually Big Andy. I guess since nobody else in the county is willing to take up for him anymore, he has to do it himself. I hear that even some of his closest friends and colleagues have agreed to vote for Joe behind his back. Family even. Andy's already lost the race in most people's minds. The election will just be a formality. If he'd of been smart, which he obviously isn't, he'd of ran for one of the other positions he was offered a shot at. Everybody tried to warn him, but I guess Andy doesn't always pick up on subtlety.

I don't know anything about that, but there is a recording of Sheriff Shock saying some things he should not have said. I kid you not.

Well I ensure you I am not Andy. And Mr. Voter you seem to know a whole lot about everything but can not prove nothing. You got me thinking you may be Taylor. You seem really angry in your post. You must be one of those ex emloyees I keep hearing about that can't get over being terminated. Oh and Mr. Looking, have you heard this recording? If so enlighten us...

Honestly I hate politics. As a transplant from pulaski county ive only lived in faulkner county since 1998. I live out in the rural county and dont know much about politics. I'm just a hard working family man that pays my taxes and tries to survive. I have to say though since shock has taken office I see increased patrol thru the area I live in and all over county for that matter. I get around the county a lot rather its fishing or running errands and I love to talk and everywhere I go I bring up this question "how about the sheriff race? What y'all think". The anwser I get 95% of the time is " Shock has my vote". However I have heard a couple of folks say Taylor. I ask them why that is their decision and with Shock I hear a a ton of good stories, the folks that say Taylor, well they just say something about they had a friend who Shock either put in jail or was terminated by him. As for me I'm just listening to the citizens and their views. In my opinion Shock is a favorite out in the County. I guess the polls will tell lol.

The race will be close, I have no doubt about that. However, this election will not be decided by the people living out in the county, it will be won by the city vote of the people living Conway. Just because deputies are seen burning up gas doesn't mean they are actually working. The crime rate is higher now than it was before Shock took office. We have tons of unsolved crimes on the books. Just a brief run down on Joe Taylor; 1) He holds a college degree in criminal justice. 2) He has over 20 years of law enforcement experience. 3) He holds a high ranking administrative position in one of the most modern law enforcement agencies in Arkansas. 4) He knows how to handle a large budget to properly spend money on equipment and personal. 5) Holds the Rank of Major in the Conway Police Department and the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Arkansas Army National Guard. 6. Commanded men in combat in Iraq. 7. Decorated for heroism in combat. This is just the tip of the iceberg. As for a brief run down on Mr. Shock? 1) Hired by former Faulkner County Sheriff Marty Montgomery, good ol' boy system, related to Shock. 2) High School diploma. 3) About 36 month as a shift supervisor before being promoted to major under Carl Byrd, the good ol' boy system. 4) Ability to handle a budget, none. 5) Ability to handle personal, none. 6) Effectiveness running a sheriff's department, zero. The statistics speak for it's self.
