With the recent newspaper article with Thompson bashing the EMS department there needs to be some things brought to light with the public. Why he wants rid of the EMS dept. I don't really know. When Hammond was there an audit was done showing the only two depts that were making money were EMS and Physical Therapy. Before that when Bubba Shaw was director of EMS an audit was done and the conclusion was to get rid of the ambulance service would be one of the worst things the hospital could do. The hospital has been offered "FREE" to be educated on advanced billing that has greatly increased BRMC's revenue and Thompson refused because it involved BRMC. Yes it was FREE! He's one sharp cookie there folks. He is rude to his department heads, he tries to micomanage to a ridiculous extent. He knows nothing pertaining to medical issues, I'm sure he knows business. A patient asked to speak to him and he ignored him for days and would not go to him. I heard the patient was discharged and met him in the hall and basically owned him. Good Deal! FCH needs to give OMC the boot and take Thompson with them. He is bringing in employees that he has said he gave them jobs because he owes them favors, paying them huge amount of salaries, way more than previous staff in those positions. Hiring new staff paying more money and not giving the staff that have been there through it all any raises. Did he mention that the county pays money to FCH for the ambulances, no he didn't. I suggest if you have questions you start asking your local mayors, FCH employees, and FCH board members and voice your concerns. I think getting rid of the ambulance is just the first step to getting rid of the hospital eventually.

It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to realize that without a dedicated ambulance service the hospital would fold very quickly! Too many big hospital's nearby with more services availible, what would possible convince an outside ems service to bring anyone there? The mileage payments sure wouldn't! Thompson must be a retard, does he have any idea how a small hospital even works?

Doesn't the county own the trucks? I know we voted for a tax portion to go to the ambulance, I can't believe that the hospital board or Thompson would have any authority to do anything with the ambulance without going through the quorum court? Sounds fishy and underhanded.

Is the board up there retarded or are they stealing money from the ambulance and someone asked about it? They must be really old morons from Salem and Viola to want the ambulance gone. Considering the ambulance is about the only income the hospital has.

The board is a retard and people who support a facility that has nothing to offer besides increase taxes,The Physical therapy department has all antique equipment, offer cardiac rehab, these people aren't monitored oh wow they check a blood pressure what a skill, nursing area looks like a dungon, You half to remember we have Willet useless county judge whom thinks he has the powers of a president, a mayor who does nothing but collect a paycheck, Pill pushing doctors that the cops let slide. OMC takes what profit it makes why because they know they have idiots they can manipulate. FCH hospital needs to be converted to a pshyc ward for all the dopies here.

I'd vote to keep the meat wagons and pitch the hospital. There's a lot less room for fraud, besides other than more beds, what does the Salem hospital have that a loaded ambulance doesn't..?

losing the ambulance? seems to me that would be a first step at closing the hospital, probably would be a great money making write-off for omc. definitely bad for the county economy. anybody known who's on the board? i think we need to give those guys a phone call or two. of course it's possible they could care less about the hospital survival.

This is a look into the future of Heath care people. The FCH service area is all welfare and Gov. payment reimbursement type patients. No real bill payers in the bunch. Barely enough funds coming in to pay low wages to its workers and doctors. What doctor is going to want to come and work get low pay and treat trash loser patients? Where are funds coming from to maintain the building and grounds? Think it's bad now?..... Wait till the tribal king's health care law kicks in next year. You will be treated better at the Ash Flat veterinary clinic come 2014. FCH will likely close because of the new law.

Tony Thompson is BAD for FCH. He hires people who he owes favors too bring the morale of it's employeers dowm. The people he is bringing in don't know anything about that hospital. At first, I thought he was tryng to make good changes and people were rebelling but I finally opened my eyes and realized he is doing the opposite. I pray for that hospital and pray that Tony Thompsons leaves so that hospital can continue to provide some care for the communities it serves.

You folks have a lot of nerve getting on here and bashing Thompson. He is working extremely hard to try and save FCH from the horrible mess that it was in when he began work. He is extremely intelligent and highly competent unlike some of you are acting. In fact you could all learn a thing a two from his leadership skills rather than gossiping like 12 year old girls in study hall.

Thompson is fake as he can be, when he does talk to someone you can tell. WRMC got rid of him for a reason. He might be intelligent but he is making some very bad choices. He and OMC were on their way out till a couple of supervisors started campaigning for him, and I'll be dam if they didn't get pay raises. By God nobody else did.

Actually WRMC didn't get rid of Tony he left WRMC because he wanted to try and save your little hospital. He was doing well, and he didn't need the money. Also, he is as far from fake as can be, he just has the personality of an administrator (the the point and factual).

I heard from WRMC that it was either get fired or leave. It wasn't our hospital he was trying to save. He had interviews at other places around and didn't get hired there, the bank for one. Hiring friend for much more money than previous folks in those positions. Letting nurses bid there hours for a while, then still offering double pay to come in and work, when nodody else gets any kind of raises. 12-14 nurse turnover since he has been here, cause of the BS of hiring new at higher rates, and the ass backwards ways of doing things, they left in fear of losing their license doing things "his way"

Well I don't know who you spoke with at WRMC, but I'm high up here and that rumor is completely false. If you want to use facts to make a point, then get the facts and don't use false accusations. Hospital administrators have an extremely difficult job and its extremly hard to make everyone happy (there will always be people out there complaining about every decision we make). Sometimes we have to do things that aren't popular in order to make things work out in the end. I understand your concern, but believe me Tony is trying hard to get your hospital back on track. Hang in there and it will work out for you in the end. Btw I know who you are.

Wow. Mr. Yes, u know alot about FCH? U don't know anything!!! U don't know the moral of the staff here and how much they don't want someone fake like him here! He comes in and tries to be friendly, honorable, etc but u can see it in his eye, he doesn't care about anyone at the facility, this facility, or its patients. He talks down to people and belittles them.
He has brought in a new CNO who doesn't know what she is doing. Karen is a laughing stock at the facility as well as Tony. I wouldn't let some of those nurses care for my dog. Karen has hired inexperienced and evidently uneducated nurses to charge. And what makes it even worse is when people bring this issue to her attention, she doesn't care. Maybe Karen needs to be a patient of theirs. What is even worse is when these nurses have been working for months and the floor supervisor puts them back on orientation.... Karen has been made aware of the situation as well as Tony!
What is up with giving LPNs RN wages? There is an LPN who graduated RN school and still hasn't taken his boards and making RN pay...that doesn't make sense, but Mr. Yes, Tony is allowing it to happen.
What about nurses week? Not even a thank you for all the hard work that is actually done at that facility, not one thank u.
And the high priced doctors? There is one amazing doctor who wants to.com e back, but Tony does not allow it, y? And why can't there be a hospitialist? We need good doctors. The doctors from OMC are the crappiest doctors around. OMC often says, thank you for taking our crappiest doctors and Karen.....but Mr. Yes, u don't know what they say do u?
Mr. Yes, I suggest u know ur facts before u chime in....
This is a small hospital which serves many people and counties. It is needed. OMC has done nothing for this facility, what ever money it is making goes to them for their "management ". It is sad when the lab department van not afford it solutions needs everyday. I wish someone would come and audit every transaction since OMC took over.
It is pretty sad when people billing can't even see their desk or the floor because papers are everywhere piled sky high. No wonder the hospital is in such a poor money situation because they don't know what they are doing in there.
And what is up with those rooms, is maintenance not trying to fix the rooms up anymore? Or has that stopped?.
