I recently made a purchase at Walmart. The cashier that rang up my order had to be the slowest cashier in planet Earth. I could understand if maybe he was learning or trying but just couldn't get the hang of it, but no....I think he was purposely taking his time. The slower he was, the less customers he had to deal with, yet we still have to stand in the mile long lines. He definitely is one of those people who are only their for the paycheck. Not only was he slow but not one time did he even acknowledge I was there.

Everyone has a bad day,or maybe he was new at being a cashier and was trying to remember how to operate the equipment. Plus they have to remember the codes for all of the items that do not have preprinted bar codes. It also doesn't help that Wal Mart does not put enough cashiers out there when they know there are many people waiting in line to check out. They used to have a sign that said IF MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE ARE IN LINE WE WILL OPEN MORE CHECKOUTS. That sign has seemed to have quietly disappeared.

I often think how much crap the cashier takes for the long lines at walmart.

Here we are, all bitching about the lack of cashiers, yet we take it out on who? The cashier...because they are there and they are easy to complain to, they are trapped.

I always try to make the cashier laugh and smile when i can. their job sucks enough without me adding to it for something they cannot control.

Don't blame the cashier. Blame the employer.

I don't know of very many people who enjoy their shopping experience at Wal-Mart anymore. The BEST part of my trip there is when I'm through and walking out the door!!

He was def not new. He's worked there for some time. I didn't wait in a long line. There was only one customer in front of me. He just didn't care enough or at all. I actually work for Walmart myself. I would never treat a customer this way. Not even a "hi". I have bad days to but it's not the customers fault.

Blame the employer for what? Giving him a job? He doesn't have to work there..there are other places he could apply for.

I'm assuming that's supposed to bother me. I love that no one can have an adult like conversation these days. There always has to be filthy language used. I don't use the language. I can hold my head high and walk away from this conversation at this point because no one will change my mind. I'm assuming that you all feel sorry for the guy and possibly know him. I could have looked over the slowness but to be rude to a customer is extremely uncalled for. Like I said, I work at Walmart myself in management. I know how a day at Walmart is. Have a nice day. I will now be excusing myself from this issue.

wal mart knows that most everyone has no choice but to shop at their store so they don't give a damn how bad the customer service is.

shopping at food giant is at least 25% more expensive. I only buy my meat there.

driving around to Dollar General and then another store for your other stuff is just a hassle.

anyone ever notice how Mayfield's wal mart is about 20% more expensive than Benton or Murray's?

check it out its true.

but we are trapped with few options so they have no reason to change.

It seems to me that you have put yourself upon a pedestal above this man and he don't like you ! I certainly can see that .\,as I feel the same about you ! Yes Wal-Mart has its problems ,they seem to be people like yourself !I'd bet if OLE Sam Walton was alive today he'd get rid of the likes of you ! The lower level help (as you obviously think they are)are the result of upper management like yourself ! Is this that Karen Rowland chick at the Mayfield Wal-mart,that trolls Hill Top for drunken little boys (cougar wannabee)? She seems to be a royal bitch like you !

Upper, and even some lower managers at the Mayfield wal-mart are pieces of shit. I was there friends, and believe me when I say, blame the employer. If you got treated like that all day, you wouldn't give a shit either.

I was at Murray Walmart last Saturday night and heard a supervisor chewing out an employee right in the middle of the store aisle. She wouldn't stop. There's a time and place for everything and that supervisor should have went somewhere with more privacy. I was shocked. Very unprofessional!
