Heard that he ran over a van while working on His House Church and the church had to pay for damages, because he does not have insurance. How can a contractor get a license without proper insurance? Mayfield not looking out for its citizens!!!!

No rumor here, he is just like 95% of Mayfield contractors. No liability and no work-comp, citizens of Mayfield play Russian roulette everytime they hire a contractor.

Boy I think I will join His House if they pay their volunteers!!!! Ha Ha!!!!!! Point is it could be any contractor and any customer and without out insurance, customer is the one that is Liable for damages or employee injures! It could happen to you or me!!!! City of Mayfield is failing to protect its citizens! Most progressive cities require proof of insurance for license.

First, I don't believe His House is even in the city limits of Mayfield. So a business license is not required in Graves Co. And second it was said that the person hit a van, I have had many license from many cities and never been asked proof of auto insurance. Contractor liability insurance covers your work or your workers in case of injury not traffic accidents.

You may have a driver's licenses, but never owned an vehicle and had to get it licensed. You missed point entirely(maybe over your head)If a worker fell off roof and was hurt real bad, His House (customer would be the one held liable, since contractor had no insurance.

You missed the point entirely!!!!!! Contractors should be insured, if worker fell from the roof and broke his back, the customer would be held liable, since contractor had no insurance!!!!! Enough said!!

General Liabiliy insurance should cover on a tractor... I believe....... Lack of insurance by contractors and failure by cities and counties not doing everything possible to protect citizens, is the main point here!!!!

Definitely not over my head. Been a construction worker and owner for over 38 years. You talk about how the government should protect the people but the customer has responsibility as well. To ask questions and for references. To do a little work before starting a project. But more than likely they did what most do around here and only look for the cheapest bid. They didn't think or care if the guy had any Contractor Liability Insurance just that his bid was cheaper. And that is why most do not carry it, because they cant afford to pay for it when everybody is only looking at the bids. His House took a gamble and did not do some basic footwork before starting a project and got a lesson in customer responsibility.

He didn't get paid for his house he got to keep the metal off the roof and still had to come out of pocket for the job. He goes to that church and he was doing chad a favor.
