I have Mayfield Electric's internet service and it has not worked for a few days. Is anyone else having a similar experience? Does anyone know what the problem is? It has never been real good but it is terrible now!!

I have thought about getting this service but after reading your post I don't think I want it. I have heard a few others say it wasn't any good. Thanks. Any others for people in the county other than WKRT which I do not want at any cost?

What can people get that have no way possible to use AT&T? We are stuck with WKRT because AT&T does not serve most of the county. It does on the main roads but not the county roads and line of sight prevents most sat services. It's a shame that WKRT has us trapped to use them or nothing.

Yeah, I used Mayfield Electric back when they started and it was pretty good for the price, then after about a year it went waaaaay downhill, especially around 5pm when everybody got home. I cancelled at least a year ago and the dish/antenna is still sitting outside my house, lol. I got AT&T after using Galaxy and ditching them cause of the ice storm, they just gave up on a bunch of customers it seemed like. AT&T for the money has been worth it, don't know much about WK.

Mayfield Electric doesn't offer cable service. They offer internet which I here a lot of people complain about. Go with at&t if you want to punish yourself. Go with cable for dependable internet.

We have the same problem. Every few months, I call AT&T to see if they've broadened their service area. WKRT is such a rip-off compared to all of the others out there. They know they have the monopoly on us, same as West Kentucky Rural Electric Coopoly.

You're better off getting internet and subscribing to Netfix and Hulu. Much cheaper and you'll be able to watch most of the same shows.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out WK is keeping it's competitors out somehow (not that we would ever hear about it). They seem to have a lot of pull in this town.

I have had all 3 Att, WKT, and MWES. If you are just want to get email and surf a little and have plenty of time the MES is ok. It does have issues with weather and interfearance with other wireless devices. Att is ok never really have much trouble you will get NO SUPPORT if you have trouble. Great for Surfing email, streaming , if you get the 3mb package or more. I have moved and been using WKT for about 2 years on the DSL and now Fiber to the Home product. I have not have any trouble with the service. That I did not cause. I was tinkering with the DSL modem one day and reset it. But the sent a guy out and fixed no charge and same day. I was down a few hours. I have the Fiber product and it works great 10 Mb and I live in the county. Faster than ATT , I stream movies and video off the net no problem. Kids have 2 I pads watch whatever they want ( within parental guideance) no problem ( love the History Channel APP). But they only thing is the Battery back up for the fiber started beeping one day and guy came and changed it and they installed a Dlink router that was not very good. Called and they exchanged it for a new one works great not problems. I am a little more tech savy than most and I am a tinker. Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. Looks like everyone has had issues with MEW being slow. Guess I'll stick with the tried and true AT&T.

Thank you! Good to know. It seemed like a good deal, with the exception of the huge money up front to get it going. Glad I didn't make that investment.

yep, dodged a bullet with that one, not only do you have speeds that are sub-par, but, should a storm come through, and the sky is cloudy, dear god, help you on finding a signal.
