When Brad Pitt, Jamie Foxx, or George Clooney actually take a REAL gun out and kill someone then you have a leg to stand on. Actually, no, you still don't. People that get all torn up over things like this blame Looney Toons and Smurfs for anything that isn't Christian and video games and Marilyn Manson for Columbine. Personal responsibility would be nice.

Yes, because I've watched horror films all my life and I have yet to murder a single person. How is that?

Give me a freaking break. Movies do not cause people to do these things and if you think so, seriously, you are the one who is blind. Correlation does not equal causation and looking for a scapegoat does nothing but key in to your own desperation to feel better about the entire situation.

Law and Order SVU doesn't make pedophiles any more than Nascar makes speeders.

You going to do it? You going to literally start making moonshine and ignore the legalities and danger of self harm to do what you're seeing on television?

I think it is very dumb to think that violent tv, movies, video games, music, etc. does not influence people to do violent things. If those people are children/youth or have mental problems it makes the chances of them acting on what has been put in their mind that much more likely. Fact! Hollywood making their living putting out violent movies and tv show then claiming that none of it is their fault is extremmmely hypocritical!
Parents who allow their kids to make all that mess a part of their life then are surprised when something bad happens, DENIAL and bad parenting!!!

I don't have ANY desperation to feel better about any situation. Duh! If a person has mental problems then are allowed to fill their head with violence, bad things like school shootings will possibly happen. Look at all of the mass killing shooters, mental problems. Even if a kid does not have mental problems, there is nothing productive in filling their head with violence. Should something go wrong in their life it is dangerous to have a mind filled with violence to act on. It is nothing but bad parenting to allow it! And of course you do have the GROWN male children who are addicted to all the violent movies and especially video games. Of course they will allow their own children to do it too! If you had to spend a week in a public school I think you would have a whole different view of violence.

How do you know the parents have not tried to get their kids help??? Read "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother." The link is above. I grew up watching what you did too but what we watched does not compare in any way to what kid's heads are being filled with today.

You will also notice that with most of those kids, their father has abandoned ship! Usually it is ALL left to the mother to deal with.

A couple days ago there was one of these kids and his parent(s) on Dr. Phil. He had been put in for observation/treatment 14 times! Still nobody would help them. He had caught the house on fire, threatened to kill his parents and his self, attacked other kids, attacked his mother regularly, injured himself, swung a bat at his grandmother and store employees, etc, etc, etc.

thats when we blame the LAW and the SYSTEM. i know my nephews mom had to go through so much hell and cop callin to get any help the cops and cps turn a blind eye to it. sounds like the kid on dr phil needs admited to a mental home .they dont keep them long enough .30 days aint gonna cut it they need a year or more .insurance is too cheap to pay for long term.

Preach on Doc and Amen! SO glad I'm not alone in this. Started to just acquiesce to the fact I was in closed-minded ignorant West Kentucky that has no idea how to spell scapegoat much less what it means.

I read I Am Adam Lanza's Mother, probably days before you ever even knew it existed because I in fact KNOW people that were in that theatre the night the shooting happened and spoke with them online as the police were there and everything was still going on.

It's funny what people find hypocritical but under this line of logic, everything is at fault except the individual: food causes fat, alcohol causes drunk driving, pencils cause bad term papers. No personal culpability! YAY! I can blame my child's problem on anything but myself and his genetics!!

"If a person has a screw loose.."

Yes...they are already broken and need to be fixed. How is that Hollywood's fault and NOT the fault of the person pumping this into their brain or allowing it to be so. Do you even KNOW what correlation does not equal causation means?

What about the other 98% of the nation that grows up just fine watching Freddy, Jason, and Bugs Bunny while listening to KISS, Metallica, and Marilyn Manson? Just because this one poor little girl can die by eating an apple under an oak tree (really exists) does not mean all children should never be able to eat apples outside ever again.

Correlation does not equal causation.

Ignorance. Pure unmitigated self-martyring ignorance. How exactly do you think you know I don't spend every single day of the week during the school year in a public school?

"No Ma'am"

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,

Joshua BostonCpl,
United States Marine Corps
2004-2012
