Why did this woman do this? Did she not think she wouldn't get caught? Now, because of her greed, honest people could loose their jobs (and some may have already). Not to mention, Dollar General and every store around here, could refuse to let anyone use coupons because of her selfish gluttony. Shame, shame, shame on her. I hope she's ready for what karma has instore for her!!

I have heard a little about this...it saddens me that people are using coupons in the wrong way. I'm not sure what transaction(s) she did, but I would like to know. If she did actually use the wrong coupons to get items for free, or overage, that is technically "theft" and she can be prosecuted for that.

If you want to learn how to use coupons the RIGHT and ETHICAL way...you should check out this facebook group...Mayfield Steals & Deals...Local Coupon Community - perhaps this person who committed this fraud should have checked this group out.

What exactly did she do?No one has mentioned it,if the store lets the coupon go through then she cant get in trouble for it.The people that let the coupon go through get in trouble for that.Ask any manager. The most they can do is tell her not to shop there anymore if she comes back in.

People make me sick bashing a woman for using coupons, they just wish they knew how to use them, I have shopped at dollar general and used coupons and have ask the clerk if certain coupon are correct and there response is the register will let us know and I have bought what the coupon read and saved alot of money so people deal with it and maybe others should quit starting rumors about people loosing the jobs no one has lost there job I am friends with some of the workers and they have told me it is all rumor

I agree couponer. Some people are just jealous about all the money these women save using coupons. Its sad really to be jealous of someone for saving money. If a coupon doesnt go through at the store its up to the cashier or manager to see if the coupon is correct & either letting it go through or not letting it go through. You cannot get arrested for couponing, lol.thats ridiculous.

I am not an employee, but I know this story to be true. Basically, this woman used coupons for the wrong products and got mass quantities of the items, then used the overage from the coupons and got it back in Visa cards scamming DG out of thousands, yes thousands, of dollars. Yes, the employees are are fault for not seeing the coupons were used wrong, but in all honesty, the couponer herself is most wrong for trying to scam the system. I don't think she was badmouthed here at all, she was just called out on what she did and how that could affect others (employees and other couponers). Bringing this to others attention might make others think twice before pulling the same scam. They can be, and should be, prosecuted for their actions. I am not here to bash anyone on clearing shelves, that's their choice, but I do not think it's right to use a coupon for products that it was not intended for. Plain and simple.

I know for a fact there are several people doing this so called Scam then I have seen some post on Facebook this is so ridiculous. I know a lady that lives in Ballard county does this for sure at the dollar general store there she calls it her store and if anyone else shops there she will start shit about them (I mean use coupons there) so ladies I'm sure there are more people doing this than just one. I worry about myself and my coupons and I don't judge or worry about anyone else.......

Actually its not a rumor the ones in Mayfield did not accept those coupons so they did not get in trouble. Two employees from the Wingo DG were let go and now one from the fancy farm DG was let go last week, with two more employees still pending. The coupons were a scam and yes one person can mess things up for other who have legitimate coupons and need to use them.

A family member of mine is the manager of the Fancy Farm DG, and she told me the story. They got scammed out of money, the woman was using cupons for things that DG didnt even carry, but the computer scanned it, and the head boss said if it scans accept it. They were doing what they were told. They have already fired the former manager and the third key at the fancy farm DG.

I am good friends with the person who did this. She did NOT know it was wrong. The dollar store MANAGER told her if it scans, they take it. And she used the coupons on the same line of products. She is not even couponing anymore. Lesson learned, move on. And what are all of you worried about? If you use your coupons legitimately, you have nothing to worry about, right??

I worked at Dollar General for a year and a half in lone oak. You CAN NOT use FREE item coupons they are NOT suppose to take them. You CAN use buy one get one free. Also u can not use more then two of the same item coupons and if u do bring a coupon in lets say for instants it's $5.00 off for body wash, if the body was is only $3.00 they can still take the coupon but you CAN NOT get any money back.
