I am so upset with Gibson's Pharmacy. My mom went to pick up her monthly meds yesterday and they wouldn't let her have her pain pills. She was almost in tears that she would be out this morning and that she would have to drive back to town today to pick them up when she should have been allowed to get them yesterday while she was in town. She phoned in yesterday since she was going to Wal-Mart and when she got there to pick them up, they told her she was too early. She had them filled on Oct. 27 and it was for a 30 day supply. Yesterday was the 30th day since she started taking them the morning of Oct. 27 and there were 31 days last month. She is now out of meds and has to make it town again to pick them up. They could have and SHOULD have given her those yesterday so she wouldn't run completely out. Do the math, if oct. 27th was day 1 of her medication then Nov. 25 was day 30 and she took her last pill last night. She suffers from chronic pain and it takes her a while to get out of bed. She always puts one on her nightstand to take as soon as she wakes up and lays in the bed till she can tolerate the pain well enough to get up. Why would they do this to her? It's not right. She's not a drug abuser at all yet she said she felt like one yesterday when they refused to give her the pills even when she told them she would be out today. Obviously, she will change drugstores now when she sees her doctor again. I just needed to vent, it outraged my siblings and me so much that they did this to our mother.

I completely understand where you are coming from, but changing drugstores will hae no affect. Pill Popping junkies have made it this way therefore we all must suffer. My mother in law goes through the same thing on a monthly basis, and has changed pharmacies on numerous occassions. It is so bad that when I go pick up her medicine for her, I am made to feel like I am one of those taking the pills for a high.

gibsons is a good place blessed, maybe the dr specified the 30 days, they have to stick to that if the dr said.even one day early could get them in trouble.i know its very frustrating .have your mom talk to her dr.

Don't the people that run the pharmacies bother to look at a calendar? Months are not all 30 days long. If the label says 30 DAYS supply it means 30 days ,NOT 1 "month". Time for you people that are supposed to fill prescriptions to come down off your high horse and take a second to understand what 30 DAYS means.

Really, I don't think Gibson's should have treated her that way. I don't think we should all just lay down and accept that we've done nothing wrong but we have to pay the price for the meth heads. Why should innocent people have to put up with ignorance because somebody else has a pill problem or meth problem.

I stopped going to WalMart pharmacy because I needed Primatene Mist inhalers and they were always behind the counter where they weren't supposed to be. Now they are no longer available in this country because of aerosols, not meth.

I stopped picking up meds for a family member at Stones Drugs because they were narcotic and some of the older women at the drive thru had a real attitude problem when I signed. I drive a nice car and don't have piercings or tatoos, not that any of that should honestly make a difference.

Have her talk to her dr. and change pharmacies. Graves County, and especially Mayfield, has turned into what's called a 'police state' and it's damn sad that it has.

i know all the pharmacists personally and they dont make the rules..they dont pick and chose whose script to fill..think about it do you think they turn down business??? there are strict guidelines to follow and EACH pharmacy goes by the same rules..if not they lose their licenses and go out of business...doctor offices and pharmacies are run by humans and they make mistakes too but 95% of the time its the patients fault due to ignorance and/or misunderstanding

If she goes to pain management the pharmacies have to hold patients to the day per doctors orders

1) the 30th day IS November 26th
2) if it was filled on the 27th, she should have one left to take the morning of the 26th (ie: rx filled at 12 pm, then pill already taken for that day from previous rx)
3) go pick it up for her
treated same way

I disagree with this. Stones is the exact same way. My 86 yr old grandmother called her pain meds & they informed her when they delivered her other meds that it was 2 early it wld b 2moro but according 2 the bottle the next day wld have been 31 days
Just sayin

Apothecary shop, Pam Wright will go out if her way to make sure if there is a way to do it she will. AND she knows how to count the days for a 30 day prescription not to mention there prices are the lowest of any pharmacy in town!

I love my pharmacy now! Try Duncan Prescription Center. Ive never had problems. And they are quick. I hated going to Walmart & having to wait a hour for them to be rude & throw my prescription bag to me after they rang me up.

Apothecary shop is so damn slow. I called the other day to tell them that I would be by at 5 to pick up my meds. They didn't have them ready like they said they would. They never have my meds ready. That pharmacy is slow damn slow! I won't go back. The lady that owns it said she had worked at k mart and she runs her business the way k mart did when they were here in mayfield. Well, k Mart went out of business and so will she if she doesn't stop talking so much and fill perscriptions. Lower prices or not, people have jobs to get to or get their kids after work by a certain time. I will be taking my business elsewhere!!!!!!

the day you get pills, you said the 27th that day is not counted. Days start on the next day. that is the way they count the days. Her scrip was good thought the 27th. Start counting on 28th to get your 30 days. Gibson is the best in town and will go out of there way to help, but if your mother is on a controlled narcotic the drug stores are check on when narcotics are given. So Gibson is right and I do not work or in no way connected to Gibson. I am a customer

Wal-mart is the WORST about this. I am so happy I no longer go there. Different people there would tell me different things. Also it has been mentioned that our insurance will not pay if it is filled early. Wal-mart has even over ruled my doctors orders to fill it now. I know exactly what you mean!!! I go to Duncan's now and love them!!!

You are sooooo right about Wal-mart. And they are hateful and need some people training skills. And no one gives the same answer to the same question. Duncan's is who I switched too and it is like a breath of fresh air!!!

you are looking at counting days in a incorrect manner. It's very, very simple and way drug stores coin your pills. Your scrip was say written on Nov 20th for 30 day. Count on calander 30days from Nov 20th to Dec 20th and you have you 30 days. Ok; very simple to get your 30 day.
