good morals isnt tazing someone for what they said and "comply" no they cannot taze you because you say something they dont like. stop judging me for the way i talk and live i dont do drugs never have i seen what they do to ppl but seriously if i dont have a weapon better not ever taze me lawsuit city
Don't have a weapon doesn't matter. If you are placed under arrest and resist and put up a struggle then they are going to taze you weapon or not not. You want to know why Einstein? because your fist are considered weapons genius. If you did have a firearm on you then thepolice would be drawing their sidearm on you. Man you're not to bright are you there homey?
If you want to have a beef against law enforcement fine do so most people who do not like law enforcement is because they stay in trouble with the law.
Also the man this thread is about is my father. Does everybody like him? No probably not. Is he fair and treats people even scum of the Earth with respect? Yes he does. Far as I know he has never treated anyone with disrespect or roughed them up unless the person he was dealing with put him in that position.
I tell you homey how about you trade shoes with a police officer, deal with some of the people they have to deal with, have a perp on top of you trying to beat the hell out of you and let's see how long it is before you pull out a taser.

Since June 2001, more than 351 individuals in the United States have died after being shocked by police Tasers. Most of those individuals were not carrying a weapon. Amnesty International is concerned that Tasers are being used as tools of routine force — rather than as an alternative to firearms.

You have to get into the cops wallet ,the city, county, state whether it be class action or simply taking their jobs.We must remind these cops that they are public servants, no better than the guy that shovels asphalt into potholes for the road dept. For the daughter,of the mention co. employee paid by co. taxes. This could happen to you if you were pulled over by a cop with the Nepoleon complex. Somewhere where nobody gives a damn who your father is.There are nutcases with badges everywhere. This problem is nationwide!Your defensiveness is making you blind.

I am not a daughter but a son thank you very much. I am also very aware of what you are talking about far as police officers who abuse their authority. My father is not 1 of them who does, never has. This thread was started about my father and I will defend him. Truth be told the person who started this thread was more than likely arrested for something they did and now is just mad and trying to lash out.
I don't care about what other police officers do and how they act that's on them. I am very aware of a rising police state I have read all the George Orwell books on the subject. Never have I ever used my fathers position to get me out of trouble and believe me I have had plenty of chances to do so. I tell the officer if I am pulled over that I am no different than John Public whose father is not a police officer, if I deserve a ticket then give me 1.
I am not blind my father has always told me to respect authority, but never to lick boots in order to do so.

I wasn't going to disagree with you at all...until you stated that you never used your father's position to get out of trouble. Know for a fact you did hun...way back in the day during high school. Don't you have a pizza to deliver or something?

There will always be Cop Haters as long as there are people who break the law. Of course nobody EVER does anything wrong. They are just misunderstood and those mean old cops will not listen to their sorry excuses. As for Officer Rileys son, man these thugs are just trying to work you up and get a rise out of you. Dont give them the satisfaction.

I have know Mike Riley for years, yes I have been into treouble by the law but I can assure you this much he is one of the most honest, respected officer around here. It just ticks me off to see his name on here about a bunch of sh&& that is not true about him at all,if he did taze you then you can belive that it was called for he doesn't just walk up for fun and do things like that and know I am not a officer thats just taken up for him. Like I said I have had my fair share of trouble with the law officers and they all know me,I am the one that will speak the truth when ppl are being bashed the officers do there job yes some do get out of hand with there badge and athourity but not riley he is the for most fairest officer around so I say it was called for what he did now with that said get a real hobbie and leave him alone fools...

I'm the other son and I don't deliver pizzas. You have me mistaken for my younger brother. What he did I don't know I wasn't living here when what ever happened. Nope I have never been in any trouble with the law other than speeding tickets.

Nope I have never used my father's job to get me out of trouble. And we never lived in a trailer park either. Reason you think he's an ass is because he probably hauled your butt to jail or he had to do his job. I'm not going to waste anymore of my time talking with people who are cop haters and the only reason being is they broke the law.

Tasers are not, nor should they ever be, "alternates" to firearms. Tasers are "less lethal" weapons. Firearms are "lethal". Should I continue class or can I trust that you can eventually put 2 and 2 together and figure this one out. If you research this further, you may find that people who "died after being shocked by police tasers" (your words), died from other issues such as drug overdose, etc. They would've died even if they weren't tased. There is no direct link from the deaths to the taser.

i hate to burst a bubble but there are quite a few taser related deaths. due to the fact that its electrical and so is the heart.. if someone has a known or unknown heart condition it can be very lethal.i dont know anything about officer riley so i cant comment on him but i can comment on the dangers of tasers, and the abuse of their use.

No bubble burst on this end. The taser doesn't send 50,000 volts through someone. I believe it uses the higher voltage to shoot the probes out, then the voltage drops to a very small fraction of that when it strikes a target. Not to mention it's not the volts that you have to worry about.
However the ideal area to strike a target is the back.
The use of anything can be abused. The use of an ink pen can be abused, if it is jammed in someone's eye socket. Properly trained officers, properly doing their job is the key.

BS it cannot. It doesn't posess enough volts or amperage to kill.
