I agree. If you just need a checkup, it is ok. Otherwise, it's just a transition point to be sent elsewhere. But hey, they have beautiful landscaping and a good cafeteria!(LOL)

they always order pizza at 5min to close. takes 8 mins. to make the order most the time. 10min to get tot the hospital, then another 10-15 depending where they are in the hospital and only way to enter is through the ER. i could have the store cleaned and gone home in the amount extra time i have to deliver to them. now if there was a decent tip like 5 dollars it might be worth the trip. which most the time the tip is 1-3 dollars. Don't they know, that i have a family too and work and go school, and i dont even get paid minimum wage. i work for your tips people.

Anyone know what happened to Dr. Datta, the cardiologist in Mayfield. He left - really liked him, just wondering.

I've never received satisfactory care while there for an E.R. visit. Doesn't seem to matter what symptoms I have, they either give me a painkiller or a shot of a steroid and send me home.

Trust me your business will not be missed. you say that now...but one day the people of this county are going to get tired of the BAD service they get from that no account hospital you work for and quit going there....and then the only thing that is going to be missed is YOUR EMPLOYMENT. Then what, are you going to go get a job in paducah? Good luck with using JPMC...aka PINE BOX as a reference. I sure wouldn't hire you!!!

Fortunately, I have not had lots of experience with the hospital myself, but I have been there for labs, tests, ER visits, and have had family there. Everyone I have encountered have been very caring and competent. Not sure what all the complaining is about - I mean, we are not a huge metropolis with a huge hospital/services, but I think we are lucky to have such a nice hospital right here in our town. I agree, if you don't like it, there are other hospitals within about 30 minutes of Mayfield.

Place you are correct and if the truth were known about why the doctors leave then JPMC might not be as popular as they are. Their most recent loss of a good doctor is Dr. Metz and he certainly made it clear that he didn't agree with some of their priorities. Dr. Danielson is also a very very excellent doctor but he quit private care to work in the ER here.

here is the truth about why people are bashing JP. people dont like the treatment they get. these people are doctors and nurse practitioners that have spent thousands of dollars and gave countless hrs of their time to go to school and become drs and such to do a service to this community. you go to the dr to find out what is wrong with you and to hopefully fix your ailments. you are prescribed medicine in which the drs think will work. if it dont you go back and not 1 day after. you take all your meds and when its done then go back if it hasnt worked. people go to the er qaand think they can have it their way. wake up people its not burger king. and something else, tabs as in lortabs dont heal or cure all ailments. get a life people and use the drs for what they are for.

I hear all the time about folks who go to that hospital and get sent home when they are suffering from major problems...and no i'm not talking about loratab addiction...i'm talking about heart problems and so forth. If there are more ppl being sent home because they are misdiagnosed, don't you think that there may be some incompetent people working there? I'm not saying that all the nurses and doctors who work there are bad...some do give excellent service and take care of their patients...but there are those select few who don't. It seems as though all they care about is pushing one patien out the door to get the next one in without really sitting down and talking and finding out what is wrong with that person. There are too many people that have had bad experiences with that place. I also have a family member who works there and said they are the most expensive hospital in western kentucky. Oh and JPEmployee...don't take this the wrong way...but when you tell ppl not to come to the hospital and that their buisness won't be missed...that really sounds unprofessional...it is the ppl who help you keep your job.

I have never had one problem with the care I got, my husband got(which was EXCELLENT)The ICU nurses ROCK!!! Dr. Bob is awesome!! I would rather go to JPMC than Lourdes or Western Baptist.. Most likely those who are bashing the hospital are the ones who went into the ER hoping to get their drug fix and the Nurses or Nurse Practitioner seen right threw them..
