the part-time force should definetly be terminated.
The idea of state troopers was better since they are the proper police I believe for that little strip in fort montgomery, the only purpose i see for the Part-time force is for ticketing passerby's which I feel there is alot of favoritism since there are long-time residents of the town who just get a wave as they zip by and know the small force personally. The taxes are high and if letting state troopers take over that station or splitting the town police and sending a few police officer's to fort montgomery as a pilot program then that would be much better than having part-time law enforcement. The Crime is not an issue since there is hardly none in fort montgomery. Fort Montgomery is a passer by town. No one really stops there other than for gas or a deli stop on the way to Newburgh or other towns east and west of there. So I hope I could have opened an avenue for further discussion on this issue
