1 I wondered what the cause of the accident was, I figured it was someone who was intoxicated that caused this unneccessary death. Despite if this young woman "wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone" I hope that if she was abusing a inhalent while driving, that she pay the price to the fullest extent of the law. I have no pity for you, I feel no sorrow for you, you were first a theif now you are a murderer. God will forgive you and it is a blessing that the family of the departed forgive you as well. |

1 On Wednesday, state police collected a can of Clean Safe Dust Remover from 19-year-old Ashley Paynter’s Chrysler 300, one of the two vehicles involved in a Sunday evening wreck on Chapman Road near Mark IV Honda, according to a search warrant. In an e-mail response to a question about the warrant, Commonwealth’s Attorney Jerry Mabe said police and prosecutors are investigating whether the can of product used to clean computer keyboards and other items and misused by inhaling the fumes contributed to the collision. “…I don’t have a charging decision just yet. I should know more in a few days,” he wrote. Officers also seized a straw with white powder residue from the Chrysler, which police said crossed the center line and struck a Nissan pickup, killing 53-year-old Judy Camper and 49-year-old April McAllister. In applying for the search warrant, Trooper B.R. Edwards, who investigated the wreck, listed the possible offense as “shoplifting.” He said the lone passenger in the Chrysler – 21-year-old Linda “Lindy” Reeves – and an accomplice were caught on Walmart’s surveillance cameras concealing two cans of “propellant” shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday. The wreck happened at 5:27 p.m. the same day, police said. “When questioned by Special Agent Brad Burnette of the Virginia State Police, Linda Reeves changed her story as to whether any propellant was taken/purchased during her visit to the aforementioned (Wytheville) Walmart store on Oct. 25, 2009,” Edwards wrote.“…I also observed a propellant can inside the Chrysler.” The search warrant doesn’t identify the other person accused of shoplifting the cans of cleaner. Earlier this year, Paynter, who was driving the Chrysler in Sunday’s fatal crash and had to be airlifted to a Roanoke hospital for treatment of her injuries, was banned from the same Wytheville Walmart after being convicted of shoplifting, according to court records. Documents, though, don’t say what she was convicted of taking from the store. She was given a two-day jail sentence and ordered to pay $27.46 in restitution, which she did. Paynter was listed in fair condition on Friday afternoon at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a spokesman said. Reeves, who was treated and released on Sunday evening, listed her mood as “worried” on her MySpace page this week after the crash. “To evryone (sic) who is blaming me for the lives lost, it was not my fault,” she wrote.“I was not even driving, but my prayers are with you all.” According to news accounts, individuals across the U.S. have died and been charged with vehicle-crash-related crimes after misusing compressed gas dusting products. According to inhalant.org , a Web site dedicated to stopping the abuse of common household products,“the effects of inhaling can be severe.” “Within minutes, the user experiences feelings of intoxication and may become dizzy, have headaches, abdominal pain, limb spasms, lack of coordination, loss of control, hallucinations and impaired judgment,” the site said. SOUNDS TO ME THAT THE TWO OF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND BECAUSE OF IT MY FRIEND IS GONE. |

1 Seems to me from reading the post below that it is pretty clear what happened. Linda, when you get into a car and abuse any substance that impairs your ability to drive that results in the death of another, that is murder. Not an accident like you describe. Oh yes, this young girl is to blame. It is all her fault. It makes me sad that the two women in the truck died, it should have been the other two. In my opinion they are two useless, spineless parasites that serve no purpose to the rest of the population. They are sinners...murderers. They could have killed anyone including a child/children. That is what enrages me so much. I don't want to hear, "I'm sorry" from these two, it's to late for that. They should have known better and now they need to own up to what they did. God forgive me for saying such harsh things, but I will never forget the images I saw that day with my two babies sitting in the back seat. The white cloth over the side of the truck, the wreckage spewed across the road...EVERYWHERE, the smell, my God the smell! I'll never forget it. What a terrible way to go, it's so horrifying. Can't these two selfish females get that?? My deepest condolences to all of those who knew the victim's of this terrible crime. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. |

2 Lindy, you were conscious when you were removed from the vehicle. If you remember correctly, the Chrysler caught fire. You began screaming, "My Baby, My Baby! Save my Baby!!!" My friends returned to that burning vehicle and risked their own lives to search for a car seat, or an infant remaining in the car. They did not realize "Your Baby" to whom you were referring was the driver of the Chrysler... your "girlfriend". Not once did you ask about the well-being of the victims at the scene. You did not care about them prior to your "huffing" dust-off, you did not care about them when you were laying along the roadside screaming for "Your Baby", and I will never believe that you care about them now. You sicken me, Lindy. I will use every power that I have to see that you both are held accountable for the damage that you have caused. I dare any family member of these two girls to try to defend them in this matter. You may have deleted your "MySpace" but can not erase what you have done, or the substance of your character. These girls are nothing more than "trash". They were trash before this accident and they are still "trash". |

1 I would like to thank you for saying what alot of people feel and some just won't post. I think that God will forgive you for what you have written. If Lindy had ANY regards for the husbands of the two sisters, the children of April, the mother of these 2 girls, and the sisters and brother that now have to try to find a way to live everyday with what she and Ashley have done, she would stay off of any website posting any kind of comments. I personally think that the most harsh punshiment would be too good for both of you. I hope neither of you ever have to experience what it feel like to have to bury a child, much less to bury two of your children at the same time. NO MOTHER OR FATHER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO DO THIS!!!!!!!!!! |
