Lafayette budget includes pay hikes for council, employees
The Lafayette City-Parish Council on Thursday approved a budget for next year that gives a 3.5 percent raise to employees plus a 10 percent salary hike for council members and significant raises for many department directors, including a $100,000 boost for the head of the city-owned utility system.

rathar, there should be a substantial pay cut to match the lack of performance, very little is accomplished and well ther work crews i ve seen more than enough times of them sleeping mid day in their trucks, i think they should be able to accomplish more with a 50 percent budget cut, proper project managers could do a lot to straighten up that mess
