The only reason the Ranch built a water system was so it could get people to buy land. They knew it was a loss from the start.

Guess what? The Ranch sold a lot of land, and made big profits on it, especially in the past 4 years when the real estate market exploded.

Then they wanted to build 200 mansions at La'au Point and they told all the people who already bought land from them to cut back their water use. Fo real!

So don't be fooled into thinking that the Ranch is pathetic. They created their own problem, and now they're running away from it.

And from my Hawaiian island to all those people posting insulting racist comments on this site, e kala mai but please stay where you are. You have no more aloha for Moloka'i than the Ranch had. And we pity you for that.

The Peoples Republic of Hawaii is back at it again, making a Privately owned business operate at a known loss and not allowing them to at least recover their operating cost! If I was the Molokai Ranch, I would tell the County to go to HECK then I would bulldoze the complete plant and let the county build their own facility.
When one of my haole neighbor died of an overdose and was buried at a cemetary on the Hilo Side of the Big Island my other haole neighbor made a comment: " I wonder why he (husband) didn't have her buries back in California, later he may want to have her moved when he goes back". This attitude is very prevalent in Hawaii, which is very good. Now for you in Texas, make all the idiotic comment about the people in Hawaii or (Republic of Hawaii as you want to call it) as long as you keep you white arss in Texas.

I'm with "Sli" from Pu'unene....and I also wish to add that Dr. Ritte shot not only himself in the foot but everyone else on that beautiful island....get with the progress Ritte, your blinders are not helping your people. NOT ALL HAWAIIANS think the way you do - now look what happened to your whole island thanks to your bullheadedness.

And "Takspayr" You are nasty and mean-spirited. Glad you don't live near here...you DESERVE L.A.!! Please, stay there.

Have any of you Pro-Laau development types taken my advice and got your wife and or daughter into prostitution yet?

Why not?

It would be great money. You'ld be providing a basic service. You would be helping to "drive" the economay.

Come on. If Molokai should just develop every prime beach front property, then all of you shouldn't be bothered by the women in your life doing a little business on the side. Business is business right? Profit is always good right?

Get busy folks. Report back with how you are doing.

Some Hawaiians hate the white man and this is a form of Al-Qaeda in the making right in our own back yard. What we need is the republicans and rebels starting another war like they did in 1898. Lets see who really owns the Hawaiian Islands. Walter Rittee and his cronies need smart bombs flying into their windows BANG your gone you deseased pizzle.
