I don't see how any CHRISTIAN can accept Gays and Same Sex Marriages into the Membership of a Church! Read your Bibles! Both are abominations in the eyes of God!!!!

Christ calls for repentance from sin. This is the truth in love. This lost church has been infiltrated by minions of Satan like so many others.

It is a travesty for the church to condone practicing homosexuality. As if you can normalize sin by a show of hands. No right thinking Christian would be associated with this perverse denomination.

God does not hear the prayers of unrepentant sinners. Don't be caught dead in your sins. Repent before it is too late.

Yes, that's what I love about Christians - they always behave so Christ-like.

And I don't see how anyone spewing such hate and prejudice can call themselves a CHRISTIAN.

Christianity has been perverted and distorted for nearly 2,000 years. Congratulations - you're valiantly and successfully carrying on that tradition.

Remember that Christ taught acceptance and love of all, and non-judgment. Some of us were paying attention to the real stuff in Sunday School and left the hate-filled rhetoric behind.

All of the mainline denominations are going by the wayside because of this issue. Isn't there already another Lutheran denomination that split away in the 70s?

You haven't even read the Bible. If you had read it, you would have come to the Book of Samuel, where The Bible uses the union of two MEN to define marriage.

Marriage occurs when the souls of two people become knit as one and they make a covenant with God as their witness. The earliest example of this definition came from the Bible and became the standard for marriage vows still in use today:
__________

From the Old Testament:

1 Samuel 18:1>"...the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul."

1 Samuel 18:3-4>"And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt."

1 Samuel 20:41>"After the boy had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone and bowed down before Jonathan three times, with his face to the ground. Then they kissed each other and wept together until David exceeded."
__________

Jonathan and David's marriage lasted 15 years and ended when Jonathan was killed in battle:(till death they were parted)
__________

From the Old Testament:

2 Samuel 1:26>"I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women."
__________

David was God's favorite person so God makes sure Jonathan and David's marriage is in every Bible ever printed including yours

Well; sweetheart, here is God's sin list
__________

1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me

2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain

3. Thou shalt keep holy the sabbath day

4. Honor thy father and thy mother

5. Thou shalt not kill

6. Thou shalt not commit adultery

7. Thou shalt not steal

8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor

9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife

10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's goods
__________

And I guess you think God needs your help so you added:

11. Thou shalt not be born with homosexual orientation

12. Thou shalt obey "John Baptist" because he knows more about what God says than God does.
__________

Sweetheart, if you really, really believe that God is All Powerful, then he most certainly does not need your help.

Members of St. Paul's Church in Maumee, Ohio are no more than a bunch of bigoted, phony christians. The Evangelical Lutheran Church may realize that this crew of fools is not wanted, or needed. Let them go their own bigoted ways and continue to be relects of past days! What a bunch of morons!

Could you imagine what Christians would think if I came back now? I used to hang out with tax collectors (the scum of the Earth back then) and prostitutes.

My Dad told you not to kill. Can you imagine the outrage when I protested the death penalty?

"That what you do to the least of me..." Can you imagine when I try to tell people that health care is a moral issue.

I told you to get the plank out of your eye... But still you point out all the faults of others.

I really wish you would stop using my name for the exact opposite of what I stand for.

Wrong.

The ceremony depicted is where one person is taking another as sort of a brother. It is a similar concept to being named Godfather, blood brother, or an adpoted brother. It is still common in many parts of Europe today and iIt has nothing to do with sick, perverted American notions of sex.

I don't keep up with the Lutherans specifically, but throughout history there have been numerous schisms within Christianity--one of the better known of course being Luther himself. I don't know that, in retrospect, any can truly be regarded as the split between good and evil that they appear to be at the time.

Read it and learn about love.
Do not forget the following from the book of Ruth, frequently read at weddings:

Where you go, I will go;
where you lodge, I will lodge;
your people shall be my people,
and your God my God.

This represented a bond between two women--and in fact challenged the established order in which a widow, lacking brothers in law to marry and care for her, was to return to her family of origin (her father's house).

Again, I know people who became brothers (or sisters) by this custom. They are taking each other as brothers/sisters only. In the cases I know, they marry other people. This custom has nothing to do with perverted American notions of sex. Stop trying to twist things around to fit your notions of politically correct pop culture.

People throw the charge of "judging" other people at each other all the time, as if it is always a mortal sin and inexcusable under any circumstance. This has even carried over into secular discussions, and is the defense of the guilty when they can't justify their own actions. It is most often used by "Christians" as protection for their own sin and condemning anyone for exposing it for what it is.
Here is where most people go most often in the Bible to throw the blame back on their accusers and make them the worst sinners of them all:
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged . 2 For with what judgment ye judge , ye shall be judged : and with what measure ye mete , it shall be measured to you again . 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold , a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
This is simply saying that if you judge others on earth, you will be held to the same standard by God.(Vs 1 and 2).
Verses 3-5 are simply an admonishment to all to clean their house before they "cast the first stone".
You don't judge the person in the sense that you determine the status of their salvation at any particular time. That is God's job alone, for only God knows the heart of man.
Call the sin what it is when necessary.
In the case of homosexuality, it is clearly a sin in GOD'S JUDGEMENT according to His Word.
Identification of sin, when it is supported by the Word of God, is apparent, and is not a matter of judgment or sin on the part of the "judge".
The evangelical use of the judgment of sin is to bring the sinner back to the love of Christ, and obedience to the Father. Without judgment of sin, there would be no evangelism.
By the way, we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, me especially, in many ways.
One sin is not especially worse than another - except in our own minds. To God, all are the same.
Use your JUDGEMENT TO FURTHER THE CAUSE OF CHRIST, WITH DISCRETION AND MUCH PRAYER.
