Actually, the use of temporary employees is an increasing problem for employees everywhere...GM does it, Ford has a lawsuit against them for abusing it; at Nissan down south, 30% of its employees are temporary workers and their workers were at the Detroit auto show protesting about the anti union tactics Nissan has been using to thwart organizing a union . Temporary employees are being used and abused on a permanent basis at hospitals, offices, hotels, you name it. That why the fight against right to work legislation is so important. That being said, our unions needs to step up and cut the bullshit and start doing their job instead of looking out for themselves. This will be a factor in people not really caring if right to work is passed. Nobody wants to pay union dues if they arent getting fairly represented.

You said they would all be out of a job soon, so what does it matter what their wage is? Sales are through the roof and they keep investing money into the complex. You keep coming with opinions and we keep coming with facts.

That was gross revenue, not actual profit. To get to the actual or net profit, you have to subtract all the overhead. If I am correct, without checking, I think it was probably around 160 million net profit. Nothing to sneeze at, but nowhere near the 2 billion. Auto makers like Chrsyler operate on a relatively low margin and things can go wrong quickly if management isn't on top of things and/or sales fall off. Also, going forward, I think the cost of raw materials will start to be a serious problem for companies like Chrysler, as the federal reserve stays committed to inflating the piss out of our currency (devaluing it). The question then is how they pass it on the customers, if they can; if not, it will eat into the margins.

The economy actually did shrink in the last quarter, although marginally. This economy is very fragile and I would be wary of the future projections going forward. Then factor in Obamacare which will be in full effect by 2016. I have read reports from the IRS about the costs for the average family to carry health insurance and, if so, they aint going to buying any new cars.

you should research first. I'll help you out. Had a NET income of 1.7b. http://www.chryslergroupllc.com/Investor/pres... .
Economists factor in the health care act when forecasting. Stop it. You lost, try again in 4 years.

I was thinking of 2011 and I was real close on that. Like I said, I made that statement without looking. Union slug, you should be really happy that you even have a job, as millions of Americans are without and no hope in site. Of course, all you care about is yourself, but the slaughter of America will come back to haunt you, so live it up while you can.

As far as healthcare being factored in, you don't have a clue. According to the IRS, the Bronze plan, which is the lowest plan, will cost the average family of 5 20K in 2016. Either way you slice it, healthcare costs are going up dramatically for all Americans, which means there will be less income to buy stuff like vehicles. So much for the Affordable Care Act. Everything Obama says are lies and you should expect the complete opposite of his claims. Now, I know you voted for him simply because you are a mindless union drone without any logical or rational thought. Somewhere in your insect brain, you feel you owe Obama and credit that fascist snake with saving Chrysler. In reality, it was Bush who initiated the auto bailouts. Of course, you give him no credit.

Well, see you in four years when the employment rate is still above 8%, health care costs are triple what they are now, gas is above $5, the national debt is above 22 trillion and your right to own guns has been abolished. Good luck! Meanwhile, I have dual citizenship and can get the F%ck out of here when this entire thing starts to collapse. Time to flee America while there is still a chance.

You union-loving, communist POS. I am a U.S. citizen, first. It is so sad what liberal scum like yourself have done to this country! Just wait until CommiCare takes full effect. I assume you are not a young person, anymore. Hopefully, you stay healthy and just die suddenly of natural causes, because, according to the new health mandates, you will be denied access to healthcare once the "state" deems you unworthy.

Recently, Nobel Prize winning Economist Paul Krugman was quoted as saying:

"Eventually we do have a problem. That the population is getting older, health care costs are rising…there is this question of how we’re going to pay for the programs. The year 2025, the year 2030, something is going to have to give….…. We’re going to need more revenue…Surely it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well.. We won’t be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes… on the middle class, maybe a value added tax…And we’re also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version…which I shouldn’t even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this."

Everything Obama said about ObamaCare was a demonic lie from the pit of hell. He said if you liked your plan you could keep your plan. We just learned that 7 million working American families are going to lose their employer-based health care directly because of ObamaCare. He said if you like your doctor you could keep your doctor. We now know that doctors are fleeing medicine – and particularly primary care medicine – in droves as a direct result of ObamaCare. And that as a result of ObamaCare America will face a critical doctor shortage in the years to come because Obama won’t pay doctors enough for their services (and shouldn’t the rich be punished and driven out of the market?). And Obama promised the American people that his immigration policies would never result in illegal immigrants getting ObamaCare – to which Rep. Joe Wilson famously said,“You lie!” We now see that yes, Obama lied. Obama said his ObamaCare would bring the cost of health care down. We now know that that was merely another lie from a truly evil man.

It is people like you who voted for this lying monster. I think it is you who should leave this once great counrty, so that it can be rebuilt once again.

Yeah, but can they lower theirs faster than the U.S. dollar is being depreciated? It is a race to the bottom, as the majority of nations are trying to depreciate their currency.

I wouldn't worry so much about these other factors, Brian. The U.S. is toast and, along with it, so is Chrysler. The only reason Chrysler and GM were saved was political. Once they are no longer politically meaningful, they will fade into oblivion.
