Damn, that is sad that a man died and a very good man made an error in driving and took a life. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased, and to Brad Walck, whom I've known for years.

Brad Walck is a fine man who made a tragic error. But it was still an accident and he is not a criminal. Why not have him do community service rather than jail time. He is very good with the young and he could do great couseling. Both families are suffering, but incarceration will not bring back a life. Instead the taxpayers will be paying for another prisoner. I hope the family of the deceased will also have some compassion for the Walck family. My heart breaks for both families.

Sadly, no. On the Monday headline story on our local news was an interview with the mother of the man killed. She said wiping back tears, "I want justice" I'm sorry for your loss lady, but giving Mr Walck the death penalty OR ANY jail time is a little harsh. He already has to live with the fact that his inatention to driving has killed a person, BUT it was an accident. If he was DUI or doped up and killed him, then yes he needs to spend years in prison, but Mr. Walck had already been sentanced to life...of having this on his conciense forever.

I have a letter written in the late 40's by an aunt after she witnessed a large truck run over and kill her 4 yr old son. That letter was full of compassion for the truckdriver and she wanted all the family to know how much that driver was hurting and that he would forever live with the fact of a little 4 year old boy and how he died. She was full of forgiveness. This is a lesson for all of us today.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Taurus

Try to keep your energy a little bit more under control. If you scatter in all directions, you'll end up hot and bothered. Mars tends to rev up your engine, but an awkward aspect to Saturn will make everything go in stops and starts. As soon as you try to shift into higher gear you meet immovable objects at the moment, so the solution is to slow down. There are wonderful, uplifting influences hanging around as well as tricky ones, so just hang in there.
