Available "online". not the same. I can do that at home.
Mixing baking soda and vinegar doesn't exactly qualify as a complete chemistry lab course.

Get real. You cannot believe that this in any way meets the needs of today's students. If you do,---geese.

Perform at what? In this case, the school was graded based on what the founder contributed to the Illinois state superintendent

It went over your head or you are being dishonest. The lady explained that it didn't matter how the student got the correct answer. The anti education republikan noise machine just left that part out of the clip. That shit works on idiots , it doesn't
gain respect or trust in the more intelligent.

OK, I see your not on the same page. It's OK, it must have been the school you attended. I'm not talking about a contribution. Maybe the next topic, you can grasp.

The idea of common core started in 2009 and was supported by republicans, democrats , teacher associations and teacher unions. But when Obama started supporting it, the tea party idiots went into conniption's in opposition. The idea is to standardize curricula on a nationwide basis. Yes ,I support that idea.
But, common core will require a whole new batch of billion dollar tests which has the politicians salivating with anticipation of pocket jingle from the testing lobby and the big industry of testing.. So unless we are careful, we will just end up with more constant expensive testing and no teaching. If that happens, as with now, the results will not be favorable and that will be viewed by the politicians as more evidence of the need for more tests--and more whip masters-- and naturally ---more private schools where they take the what color is the red barn test and have excellent results.---.brought on by the marvel of uneducated instructors who have not had even criminal background checks.
I have had a really crazy idea that instead of fighting each other we could actually consider what would be best for the children and the future instead of obsessing in cataleptic fits of ideology.

There's a phone number to the school CALL.

It's been some years now but my children attended there and online computer courses were not available. Neither were accepted to the colleges they were without science and maths classes, including labs.

As usual you're right because you don't want to see anything, or anyone you disagree with succeed. You're wrong on this one, as many of the other topics you've become an authority on.

You've yet to show statistics about Republicans hating blacks and Hispanics. Where's the information to back your claim?

You also never posted back about the definition of "collectivism". Not willing to take on the dictionary?

Just because you think something doesn't make it a fact Jack.

You're wasting your time! Just because Gaston Day's website showed these courses were available online, he assumes that's the only place they're available! He assumes that the school doesn't teach these courses in house and that surely they don't have the nessesary labs needed to teach these courses, I guess only govt schools are allowed to have labs. The thought that these courses are made available online to help assist the students that are currently enrolled in these classes NEVER crossed his mind.

I am not really finding fault with that private school. I am merely pointing out that it is not competitive with public schools in terms of advanced courses. Do they teach chemistry? Physics? Advanced biology? Do they have well equipped laboratories, supplies and required safety equipment needed to teach lab technique and remove the abstraction of studied principles ? With only online advanced coursed available , I would say NOT.
In a republican dream world, being competent in 8th grade reading, writing and arithmetic is all that is needed to succeed in todays world. Art , music and sports enhance the quality of peoples lives. But todays world is a technical world and that is where the jobs are.
<quoted text>
That is my point! Private schools are not only producing the students to fill these jobs, they're also producing the students who will become leaders in these fields. On the contrary, govt schools produce the waiters/waitresses, McDonald's employees, landscapers, etc.....not that there's anything wrong with these jobs, most pay competitive salaries, and there is a need that must be filled.
In a Commucrats dream world, there would be a teacher AND a teacher's assistant for every 10 students and competency in anything is irrelevant, as long as the teachers have tenure and continue to get paid!

The only thing I assumed is that Gaston is telling the truth on their website which says these advanced courses are available online and lists those that are in house. Why would they lie about that? Even if they are republican?

I take it that you have never taken an advanced course in chemistry, physics etc and have no concept of the error of your statements., The high schools only give a basic foundation that is required for these students when they attend universities to prepare for these jobs. They do not get that laboratory experimental foundation in on line courses. Your experience in school must have been unspeakably horrible. You still haven't expressed the source of your hatred for teachers and schools. I already know about communicrats, socialist, collectivism , socialist agenda, bla bla. What really happened to you?

Again, you're assuming. What makes you think it's a Republican run school. If I knew you and we'd meet I'd bet you a dollar the head master was at the Moral Monday protest in Charlotte on Monday. He's not exactly you're dyed in the wool conservative.

This school is focused on providing a quality education to ready their students for college and life beyond a classroom.

I didn't and still don't care about an instructor's political affiliation as long as they do their job to educate. The children will one day be voters and hopefully can practice individualism and vote based off personal conviction and knowledge.

I beg to differ, you are assuming. Where on their website does it say these advanced courses are available online "only"? It doesn't because they're NOT, you just assumed they were! These courses are actually taught in the classrooms as well. As for why they aren't listed on the website, I can't answer, but it would be pretty moronic to assume they weren't taught in the classroom if they were offered online. As you even stated, some of these advanced courses required labs and such, so how could they offer them online if they weren't offered in the classroom?

Again, my point exactly! Gaston Day offers these courses as AP and Honors "IN THE CLASSROOM" but with much more in depth and extensive understanding of the courses that they actually receive college credits, which puts them ahead in these subjects when entering into colleges and universities, which in turn, puts them ahead of the govt school students. I understand that a few govt schools offer these courses as well which is why I said most govt school students, but just as you said, govt schools only offer the basic foundation. To your credit, there are a few govt schools that do excel in education but they're few and far between.
As for what happened to me, my govt school education failed me! I graduated with honors in the top 25 of my class out of 398 graduating seniors and when I got to college, I found I was SOOO far behind the private school students it was all I could do to catch up, let alone keep up! The quality education I thought I had received was actually a joke compared to the private school education, so I asked myself why? The reason was the teachers. Looking back I realized that my education wasn't about learning but rather how quickly they could pass us along. Most teachers didn't care if we did the work,(or even showed up to class in some cases), and with them grading on a curve, and thanks to my grades, almost everyone passed so they were happy. It didn't matter what you learned as long as we were gone and they were on to the next pay check. The quality of education, and especially the quality of teachers, between govt and private was night and day!
I, for one, decided I would give my children the best education that I could afford so they wouldn't have to struggle like I did. We've made sacrifices in order to achieve this but in the end it's well worth it! As for private schools, I can speak first hand, if you don't show up or you don't do the work there are consequences! They will kick you out with no refund and it's back to govt schools.....which is usually enough incentive to excell.
