Animal cruelty charges against fire captain upgraded to felony status
A Petersburg fire captain is facing the possibility of serious jail time after new charges of felony animal cruelty were filed against him and his case was referred to the state Attorney General's Office.

I can't believe at the end of this article this jerk was referred to as "an outstanding citizen". Good citizens do not allow helpless animals to slowly starve to death. If he couldn't feed them, he could have gave them to the Humane Society. There is no excuse for what he did.
