This is fantastic. Looks like Mingo County is getting back a lot of the tax dollars sent to Charleston over the years. The new King Coal Highway, the new Mingo Central Comprehensive High School, and other opportunities for growth and development, new business, new housing Wow!

Yea I know Red Jacket High School is going to be awesome with all that grant money they got. All them people who is going to send their kids to other schools would be kinda dumb not to let them take full advantage of what Red Jacket High School has to offer.

I agree that it will be a housing boom in Red Jacket. And everyone is going to wanna move closer to the new school. I think it will be awesome we are going to show the county just what we have to offer. Maybe somebody will do something with that old Red Jacket Grade School Building they got out their rotten and fallen apart. Red Jacket High School is unbelievable to me.

Why I'm somebody and I care. I'm glad they Built Red Jacket a new School they should've built you one to. They went all out on my hometown's new highschool man I'm lovin whoever did that. I think it would be funny if everyone didn't come to the new school from these far away cities. Then they would rename it Red Jacket High School, What I'ma keep on calling it. LMAO Somebody hates that and their all for the school. So tell your friends and closeta kin to call it Red Jacket High School. Go Red Jacket. LMAO

Its probably one of the least expensive 4 lanes ever built the state let Alpha mine the coal thu there and in return they built the road as they reclaimed .Wise decision .Coal tax money should be spent back in the counties in which it is mined . If so these areas could be less dependent on coal as their primary income and could lead to a more diverse selection of employment so we wouldn't lose our brightest students to out of state companies .

Have you looked at this section of the road on a satellite map? It is only on the top of one mountain, it starts nowhere and ends nowhere. You can't get to Williamson and you can't get to Iaeger, it's a road to nowhere. The rich businessmen don't care though, they've accomplished what they set out to do-get a road built to their property so they can develop it. They could care less that the King Coal Highway has been set back 50 years, they have their own agenda, to get rich. This whole thing was stuffed down the taxpayer's throats, and a lot of people in this area and Charleston are going to make money off of it.

My nemesis I agree with you on this one. It's a 30 million dollar joy ride to nowhere. I thought that they was going to connect it to other places, too. I thought it was going to go from williamson to Pikeville. All the way to Charleston. Then from Red Jacket further south into KY. And have a bunch of connection points to roads to different places along the way.
