Vote for anybodybut Sheila Kessler becasue she has run the town of Matewan into the ground.There is nothing in the town now so why vote for her for any office? My vote goes to Big Jim and i am spreading the word early to vote for Big jim.

what???? all truman is going to do is come to matewan and look around a little and say everything looks good to him and back to charleston. remember its close to election time hes not going to make more mad then he has to.

Folks I seem to remember that the sheriff's race with Dave and Lonnie at Kermit when it came out and got stirred up remember how fast that got shut down. Same story different place and time. Mingo is even more corrupt than Pike.

I hope Carrie's not saying Sheilia is really even considering running against Big Jim he is one of the most humble, good hearted people I know. If this county loses what few honest people it does have we just as well give up. Sheilia needs to be thankful she only got a few votes in her hometown she'll be made a fool of by Jim.

I still think Pat Garland would be a good Mayor for Matewan, but to be honest, you people don`t deserve a good Mayor. I bet that not one of you UNHAPPY VOTERS show up at town hall for meetings to voice your opinion. How many of you have tried to talk to Sheillia and tell her how you think things should be done? Matewan will never prosper because you people complain about nothing in town and when someone opens a new business, you don`t go there, you still run to Williamson. Nobody in their right mine would invest in that town.

Top cat is right. Who wants to invest in a run down Lois Justice dictated town. If Nenni restocked his store he may attract more customers; The print shop is so piss poor slow at everything; Wingos is so damn expensive, and likes to double charge its customers; A&A has to order even the simplest parts that you can get a napa, or in Williamson. About the best thing in matewan now is the re-opening of the Depot Restaurant. You people need to speak up. Over crowed the counsel meetings with your ideas and opinions.

how long have you known pat garland? one two days, cause you surely don t know him very well. everything pat does is for pat garland only. pat does not know how to communicat with people. theres has been many ideas brough to the coucil meeting, but if it s not the towns idea forget it. i know been there done that. pat did not want the mayors job during the election, so WHY did he take the coucil job? if people don t like sheila either run for mayor or ask her to resign. which she will never do. people are talkng about a new election, having truman to come down and investigate, well thats a joke. election next year you think truman is going to try to put some out of office who has alot of influence! i don t think so hes going to need all the help he can get.

I have known Pat for about 8 yrs. and he may not make a good Mayor, I don`t know, I was just giving my opinion, but my point is that the people get on Topix and complain about the way things are but they don`t seem to be willing to step up to the plate and do anything about it. I haven`t been in Matewan for a long time, but I don`t remember a lot of good men there that would take the job as Mayor. I bet that if they had a election for Mayor tomorrow,half of the people complaining would be TO BUSY to go vote.Just my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head. But as to over crowding their meetings and trying to change things, thats a joke they will run you out before you even get started. Lois needs to stay home seems to me if she is on S.S. and can put a full day in at the water plant, she could work. She does have a attitude problem really bad. But she's not the only one you are not going to change anything as long as you have the people thats in there now and most likely will alaways be, because ones as scared of one as the other

You told it exactly right. They have let her be Mayor and run the town long enough. Shela needs to let people know who the Mayor is. They want vote form her for Big=g Jims job, they will be afraid she will let Lois rule that too.
