I heard a boy died on his way to school...not AT school. He wrecked his car on Horsepen. I think his name was Tyler Hatfield.

We can all thank those who voted against the popular vote, to consolidate these schools. Although those will say that i am looking for a reason to complain about MCHS, fact is, if they hadn't, Tyler would have been going to Gilbert High and this would not have happened. Hope you board members who had our best at heart can sleep tonight. I know of many who will not be able to. But I guess it was worth it, the big famous new school on the hill that can't have a day without fights, a ball team with a great season, kids who can get along and teachers/princ. worth a crap. Thank you Dee, Jerry Mounts, Fullen and pro consolidation jerks!!!!!!!!!!

I heard the boy was racing... parents need to teach their children how to be responsible behind the wheel, or else these things are going to keep happening.

It never was reported in the Williamson Daily News about Chris Bragg geting killed on part of the new road several months ago. He failed to make a correct turn on the new roads that did not have guardrails --They were installed a few months later--which was too late to do any good.

I can not even believe that during such a tragic time people are on here blaming this terrible accident on consolidation.

Why blame it on the consolidation. They could have wrecked either way whether or not they went to the new school or Gilbert? But i believe driving to fast was the main reason why they wrecked?I believe that these teenagers need more driving experience or they shouls make it a law for them to have to wait til they are 21 or make them take so many hours of driving school classes to make sure they know how to drive properly. These kids now and days show off way too much and never have respect for others that are with them.Sorry for the tragic loss but set and think that other guy has to remember this the rest of his life? It's a valuable lesson learned to be safe and be careful?

This accident had absolutely nothing to do with the school consolidation. These kids could just as easily been going to a friend's house, going to some store, a doctor's appointment, or going to work somewhere. They just happened to be driving to school. It's ridiculous to blame the school for something they can't control.

I think what they were trying to say if the Gilbert school was still open Tyler would not be going over the mountain to the new school.

Well, that, and that it was the school board's fault that he wasn't attending Gilbert. My point is those kids could just as easily had to go over Horsepen if they lived on the other side of it and attended Gilbert.
