Pulease. I just saw the menu for Merla's new sub shop. Naming your items after the cast of the Jersey Shore? Gag me, I could never eat anything named after those idiots. Do you not realize that MTVs Jersey Shore is an insult to those of us who actually live in New Jersey and frequent the shore!?! Would anyone actually go into a restaurant and order the "Snooki", let alone put it in your mouth !?!?

I have no problem with the Merla's, but I have a problem with crappy food. Been to Jersey Shore twice, once for a panini and once for a sub. The sub was a mess and the panini was cold. Lot's of meat and cheese, but what's the point when it's impossible to eat? I'm sticking with Mike's Subs and Lenora's Cafe. Plus, the name/theme is horrible. Jersey Shore is something to despise not base your business on.

Way to go Jersey Shore Subs and Soup. How much do you love Keyport and those that reside here ? Not to much right? Piggy backing on the festival this weekend without giving a dime. Where those fake brand name purses your were selling out front of your place as well? So sad. Way to scam your your way into profits. Who would of thought you could do something honest anyway ?

I agree with wellofcourse. The Chilifest was a great event. Jersey Shore Subs had a dj playing insanely vulgar and loud music, but that's whatever. Jersey Shore (along with Karen's Treasures) were selling counterfeit clothing!! Fake Northface jackets and Ugg boots!! How is this legal? It really cheapens the whole event. But why would two of Keyport's grimiest "business owners" be concerned? You guys should be seriously ashamed.

Place has awesome food and is very affordable for the amount of food you get. Mike's is Mike's and is def good but Jersey Shore is a nice change as well. Keep up the good job John.

I agree with Reena: As sub shops go,(politics aside) it's not bad. I love Mikes subs too, but a speciality sub shop is simply a nice change. To be greeted like one of the family as soon as you wlak in is nice. Good desserts, nice soups and different sandwiches makes for a great twist on the sub. Yeah, the name is kitchy, But I think it was simply a way to get you in the door and whether you like it or not, it worked - hey you went in right? If you have problems with any food you buy, just tell them and they will fix you a new one from scratch. Different is good in a small town. Besides, all subs are sloppy, once you add oil and vinegar, it all down hill. But a nice ride down!

I think this sub shop is awesome. Their prices are great, the food is fabulous and the people behind the counter are sweet, gracious and kind. Coming from NYC it's nice to find a sub shop with awesome food. Have no clue what these folks are talking about. In Staten Island, Brooklyn and NYC this shop would be considered a huge hit. It's worth the visit.

this owner is a real sleaze bucket. Due to hurricane sandy i was not able to access my parking lot and had to park on the street. The owner leaves me a note on my car to have some respect and not park in front of his store. REALLLY? How about he show some respect and not take bribes and launder money. Google John Merla and see his idea of respecting Keyport. These are difficult times in Keyport and last thing we need is this guy squabbling over parking.

I went once to that place I ordered the sub paid, then watched a kid with no gloves sweating rubbing his face and other parts while preparing my sub. I was so freaked-out. I told him to stop and give me my money back! Never been back! Nothing can beat Mikes Subs Thank God there back!
