1500+ signatures in 30 days. Sounds pretty tough.

changed you name again huh? this coming the one who complains that people use different names. You're a joke

Even if it's not completed, this ends Gary's chance of getting re-elected. The board can always change it back with a 3 out of 5 majority.

I think Betty M is getting that going. Another person who I never thought would ever disagree with the vision team. I guess it just goes to show how you cant screw over people on a continued basis and get away with it. I do hope she gets the petition going, just to show her support of the VILLAGE and not a handful of people out to make a buck. If she gets it ready, I'll sign it also.

I called board of elections and was told there are 7,103 registered MBV voters. Some are now dead, some moved many years ago and have not voted in a long time. If you need 20% of 7,000 , that would mean you need 1,400 valid signatures. So, " taxpayer" was correct. Another thing is every signature must be of a registered voter, so Betty is the only person who can supply the BOE list. It is advisable to get excess signatures in case.

I have respect for Betty and Tom, and I respect the democratic process. 30 days will be very tough, especially around the holidays, and in the cold. I doubt Paul would want to run for office, but strange things do happen in MBV.

Orrrr, they could go with the wish of the people and vote to eliminate the 2 year extension. They voted it in without a public hearing, why not vote it OUT without a public hearing? I guess that would destroy their chances to stay in power.
This just shows how the Vision Team is more concerned with THEMSELVES than with the VILLAGE and it's residents. Screw them and vote them out if they don't repeal this illegal act of government corruption!

So, if they repeal the 4 year term, you will vote to keep them?

Yes I vote them back in. Who else is running? Because if you plan on running and haven't announced yet because you want the holidays off, you should find something else to do. This job won't be to your liking. So, who is officially running?

You should probably know that the nomination petitions won't be started until after 1-1-13. Why would anyone announce until they have secured their required signatures. So, to make this clear, you would vote for the incumbents (if they decide to run), as long as they reverse the 4 year term position.

Go to the village website, looks like they had a change of heart. Probably because an election is coming up in March and peoples reaction to all this.
Thanks to those who spoke up at the meeting, Tom F, Donna V, Maura S, Betty M. Glen S, and all the others who let the board know go to the people first and do what they want not what you want.
I still won't vote them back in they had two years and not much has change.

i guess that biondi couldn't take the heat of everyone's anger at the meeting. it says on the village's website that the mayor will be asking for the board to repeal the 4 year term resolution. that was great community work

If a petiton is to get started lets go all the way with it.I have alternate feeling why Betty wants only to stop the 4year term while most everyone wants it ended. This is probably just another political scheme to give her credability for an opening for her at election time.Lets see if I am right.

Fun fact...you need fewer signatures on a petition to dissolve the village, than you do to overturn a permissive referendum.

Thank you Brady as you just gave the credibility I needed for my prior post.It is all about politics and the never ending revolving door of the past lost candidates trying to keep an open door to find any opening to squeeze back in the ring.Again as I stated in the last post lets see if I will be right. If whoever really cares about the residents in Mastic Beach and wants to put up that petion do it to dissolve this disaster once and for all and let it be a lesson to all of us that another layer of government especially incompetent ones will surely lower our quality of life not enhance it both monetary and psychcologically. This is not worth the gamle to us.DISSOLVE,DISSOLVE,DISSOLVE.
