Did you notices who sat with who at the meeting.
Looks like the vision team has some new members like Alan and Gail on their side now. Also looks like anyone who works for the village was there.
This village is run for a few by a few and must be change in March. We need to stop this and get in some people who ask questions and want an open board.

Hey Brady I have been on the village website and through every file of the zoning commission and I cannot find a copy of the new zoning map anywhere. You usually know how to find this kind of stuff any ideas where we can get a copy of the map? Seems like that would be the first thing that you would have available to the public. All the other stuff is irrelevant without a map to show where the actual zones are.

So....I answer "Eminant Domain"'s question and I get judged nuts and clueless. Well, you guys should read the new zoning which allows a 5 story hotel, among other things. You may not believe it, but you can find it yourself.

Duhh! It's the same zoning proposal that was rejected by the public months ago. They are just re-voting on it and making it pass. Funny how it will only benefit Gary. The village officials are totally and completely corrupt if this passes. I bet the only NO vote will be from Carol who it seems is the only trustee that is there for the people, not her wallet!

And, Carol is the only trustee who has not paid her village taxes. Good luck running on that platform!

No, someone wrote that she has a good reason why she didn't pay. I think she said only little people pay taxes.

I think those houses will be re-built...BUT, to find a program that absolutely takes property off the taxroll look no furthur than Suffolks "open space" program. They are actively wooing people who were damaged by the storm and have neither the wherewithal nor heart to rebuild. Good or bad, you decide, but those properties will never generate revenue for the Village ever again. Thats a FACT

And yet, 5 months of you complaining about it and not once have you asked her WHY she hasn't! Go ask her. I did and am more than happy with her answer. It's more complicated then "she doesn't want to". But you don't care about the truth, just Gary's lies.
Oh, BTW, Gary hasn't paid taxes on his "house" at his marinas either. Why don't you care about that??

ORRRR, why doesn't anyone of you "yes men" care that the only person to benefit from the proposed Zoning changes will be Gary S? The guy MAKING the laws will gain the most by changing the laws? Whats wrong with that picture?

wow, big deal. sometimes people have to wait until the end of the year to pay. not everybody is always on time with everything. why is it your business anyway? as long as they get paid, why do you care if they are late? it's not like she's making a bucketload of money from the village and just decided not to pay her taxes. i am sure it will be taken care of. there are way more pressing problems in the village.

Oh so you mean Gary paid all the back taxes on his sons house at 7 Floral Court? Oh wait that's right the Zoning Board voted to make his illegal house legal and gave him a pass on paying any of the back taxes on this house. Did he have to pay permit fees and have inspections? Look it up 7 Floral Court.

That is not true the homes could have been a lottery by licensed contractors that would now buy a village license to bid. The fees for the permits will generate immediate revenue and the area will be supported by the contractor list of subs that are village licensed and they would have breafest and lunch at area resturants and 2 bdrms will be 3 with great value and then a higher tax .The Village can get thier grant writer (forgot dont have one )to provide grants for closing costs for 1st time home buyers. Village like the 2 steps back rule except for Gary rezoning the water front with no sewer system to sevice it. Your koolaid cup is again full -drink up

Thank you Brady! I actually really appreciate that you found the map. I do not understand any of the thinking behind the zoning of the pink, yellow and blue around the waterfront. i would love to go to these meetings but with a full time job and 3 young kids 6pm meetings on weekdays are pretty much impossible. I wish that they had some of these meetings on a Saturday and would put out a more people friendly public notice. Maybe have a half page in the paper not just a little blurb in the public notice section. Send us something in the mail. I voted for this village to be able to have more input but feel they are cutting the little people out.

Um, I responded to your saying there will never be revenue. Once those houses are rebuilt, there will be.Permits still have to be filed etc., people still eat no matter who builds it . The cost savings for the buyer will be much more than just closing costs and the buyer will be getting a brand new home. The window for submitting an application is rapidly closing though, I believe you can get one from the village office. This is much better than watching a rotting hulk becoming one with the earth whilst the property taxes are not paid. P.S., I did not see Garys name on the ZC member list, perhaps you missed something ?

You must be joking. People are not lining up to build new homes in Mastic Beach. There are plenty of brand new homes owned by banks that can be had for way less than the cost of building new and they sit empty. Who is building houses here? The roads are a complete mess with no sign of any road improvements and every little storm brings massive flooding. You need a reality check.
