Fascinating how so many fired law enforcement people just go to the next city or county and get another job. This really bolsters my confidence in law enforcement. It must be the Blue Line, as they say.

Without the Dispatch's investigation, this fired liar would still be under the radar. Is it any wonder that many no longer hold them in awe?

Thank you, Dispatch.

"Assistant Public Safety Director George Maier, who received Riley's resume and forwarded it to BMV officials."

Was it Maier's job to receive resumes? Or was this a a backdoor hint to hire Riley?

Watch this guy as he goes job hunting. While deserving folks are passed by, how come those in the system are given preferential handling? He would be in there now if the DISPATCH had not taken the lead and exposed this!

Why did this not get caught in a background check. I know my agency checks everyones employment background and won't touch people fired from somewhere, especially a Law Enforcement Agency.

funny...it doesn't seem this job was ever posted. I think anyone directly involved with the hiring should be fired. how many more former fired troopers are working for other state agencies? maybe the dispatch should check into this more.

Not only should ex-trooper Ray Riley have been axed for not disclosing two previous law enforcment firings but Ass't DPS Director Geo. Maier should also get the axe for "passing on Riley's resume" and his failure to disclose Riley's past to BMV officials. Having worked with both Riley and Maier, I know they were more than mere acquaintances and Maier knew Riley's past. Riley gets fired for not disclosing the truth and Maier keeps his job for doing the same thing. Time for Gov.Strickland to trim the dishonest fat(Maier)from the diminishing state budget. This is not the first time Maier has done something inappropriate to bring discredit upon DPS and the Patrol.
