Loose dog attacks 3 in Madisonville
CINCINNATI —
Police and emergency crews were called Wednesday after a loose dog bit several people and kept them trapped inside their home.
Officers said the pit bull terrier attacked three people in Madisonville, leaving them with minor injuries.
Emergency crews were unable to get to the injured people when they arrived because the dog was still running loose, but animal control officers were finally able to remove the dog and place it inside a van.
Neighbors said the dog had attacked people at least twice previously this year.
The incident remains under investigation

GERMANTOWN MD - 2-PIT-BULLS RUN LOOSE AND ATTACKED A 10-YEAR-OLD BOY AND HIS PUPPY WHILE THEY WERE TAKING A WALK IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD

A 10-year-old boy was walking his 8-week old puppy on Saturday afternoon when 2 PIT BULLS escaped their leashes in Germantown.

The boy's mother, Daisy Cardenas, says her son Max started running for his house but could not make it.

"THE PIT BULLS BEGAN ATTACKING MY SON AND THE PUPPY RIGHT THERE IN THE STREET."

She and 2 neighbors quickly tried to get the dogs away. One used a broom and the other sprayed water from a hose.

"I WANT THIS TO BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PIT BULLS TO PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE. IF YOU CAN'T HOLD THEM TIGHT, PLEASE DON'T BE OUTSIDE WITH THEM. THEY'RE VERY DANGEROUS."

Montgomery County police took the 2 pit bulls away. Cardenas said she plans to file a civil lawsuit against the owner of the dogs

NATIONAL CITY (CNS)- A pit bull attack outside a National City apartment building Monday left a 4-year-old girl hospitalized with extensive injuries and the owner of the dog behind bars.

The roughly 65-pound terrier mauled the toddler shortly before 10:30 a.m. when she tried to pet the animal in a grassy central courtyard at the Laurel Avenue complex, where she and her family live, according to police.

Medics took the tot to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, where she was admitted in serious condition with injuries to her face and upper body, Lt. Keith Fifield said.

Officers stopped the owner of the pit bull, 22-year-old Brittany Morgan Gardiner, as she tried to drive away from the complex, where she also lives, according to Fifield.

Gardiner was booked into county jail on suspicion of child endangerment, resisting police and allowing a vicious animal to inflict injury, with arraignment scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

The dog was impounded and will undergo a rabies quarantine, after which it likely will be euthanized, the lieutenant said.

Gardiner told officers she had given the neighbor child permission to pet the canine, believing it had no aggressive tendencies, according to Fifield

Man Found Guilty of Having Dog Kill Coral Springs Family’s Cat

Date posted: October 9, 2012

inShare.

An 81 year old man who allowed his dog to maul a cat and was caught on video doing so, was found guilty by a jury today. After only a day of testimony, the jury returned their verdict and found Hume Hamilton, 81, guilty of animal cruelty charges, a third degree felony.

Hume Hamilton was walking his pit bull when it attacked a cat belonging to Coral Springs resident Tia Spath.

Spath, who lives in Ridgeview, was shocked to find out that their cat named “Mama” had been killed at her family business, Brandy Bail Bonds, in Fort Lauderdale. She says that Mama had been their pet for almost 12 years and was a fixture at the business.

“Mama” who was tragically killed

In the shocking surveillance video, the owner of a pitbull is seen walking on the property of Brandy Bail Bonds while following his dog’s lead to get closer to the cat, when the pitbull viciously attacks. The dog’s strong jaws become locked around the cat and won’t release. The man then tries to pull the cat out of the dog’s mouth, even stepping on the cat’s stomach. He finally he pulls the dog away, runs away, and leaves the cat for dead.

Mama later died of her injuries and is buried at the business.

Hamilton had been held in jail since July without bond because he is facing charges for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was already on probation, so the judge held him without bond pending this trial. He could face jail time for this crime when he is sentenced next month.

Walk for Victims of Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Dogs-Saturday, October 27th, 2012 Tucson AZ
Please come and join us, and show your support by walking for the VICTIMS of pit bull and other dangerous dog attacks. Most often when these dogs attack, maul or kill children, adults or family pets, the support seems to be misplaced onto the attacking dog/s to be euthanized, rather than where it should be...on the VICTIM. It is time that the voice of the VICTIMS and their families be heard to promote public awareness and help reduce the number of these attacks.

Please leave your dogs at home while joining us to walk for victims. This is most importantly for the safety of the walkers and for the safety of your dogs.

DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT THE WALK

Tucson Police Officers WILL BE present at the Walk to ensure safety, and Animal Control will be present to escort any unruly visitors off the property and confiscate any Pit Bulls or Other Dangerous Dogs

We have rented the Park and reserve the RIGHT to refuse entrance to unruly visitors and DOGS
