Just wondering if my son has never played on a team for football before and he is going into 6th grade, will they take him on the youth team without him having experience? He has played for fun before but nothing else.

When he gets older don;t let him have Mr Zappia for a coach. He's an abusive ass that takes his frustrations out on kids.

your son will play youth football in Massena up to the point where the coaches start playing the kids parents instead of playing the kids. WHERE YOU LIVE IN TOWN AND WHO THE COACH DRINKS HIS BEER WITH WILL ALSO HAVE A BIG INFLUENCE ON HIS SPORTS CAREER.That's just the way it is in good old buddytown.

Massena football sucks. Zappia calls them names and makes fun of them. You get played based on your address and last name. Yet they never ever win. Joke

I played under Zappia. He may be a hard ass coach but kids these days need someone to tell them whats what. We played and went 7-1-1 under him. Co Civic Champs. So obv. he's better then you think. Maybe it was your kid that sucked and that's why they didn't get to play. Get him some lessons. As for who's running football if you contact herb he may be able to point you in the right direction. and as for pads and pants if your kid plays for the school team he just needs to talk to coach. if it's for minor's or majors or one along that line you may have to buy your own as for people hording the equipment year after year.

i had zappia for a coach, he was a douche, but he pulled everything out of you as a team. he's a great coach. he should be at the varsity level, and as far as he plays your address, or who he drinks with? please....sorry u sat the bench, maybe u should have listened to him and ran youre smoke filled lungs a little harder. but thanks for the cold water you gave me when i came off the field.

it starts at the majors level, kids do not get to play that attend practice and get to games on time. not fair to all of the kids that want to. no wonder massena can barely field a team this year for varsity, kids are sick of sitting on the bench.
