None of the trash on this site will identify anyone. They are too worried they will also be exposed.

There are two kinds of people that access this web page. Garbage that have nothing better to do and people who laugh at garbage.

Yes. I think that the problem with the system is that there is no way to help people recover and get off it. It was supppsed to be a helping hand, not a lifestyle that is now supporting its 4th generation. I wonder why tbey dont have more people auditing to get the able bodied off the couch and out to work.

We aren't comfortable with this topic. Let's get back to trashing the school or teachers or the superintendent or local business owners or people who are actually doing something with their lives

The government agencies don't want to look too closely. If they take these people off the welfare many of these government workers will lose their jobs

there is nothing wrong if a person truly needs assistance. we work to help supplement government funds to help those that are needy - and for us, when and if we do need it. i don't think most of us mind that. it is only when it is grossly abused that we resent it. believe it or not - it is resented very much by some that are also on welfare programs because their welfare companions may be receivng more than them.
however there is nothing to be nervous over or ashamed of - if you rightfull deserve to be helped and NUTS to people that call other people WHOM are on welfare scumn and other desultory names. that IS shameful.(i was very poor at one time - i know)

They are dragging the rest of us down. Time for some changes and Romney is the man to do it.

If the system saved money they could increase the income guidelines and help more people. The people that really need it that work and need just a helpong hand.

You must be joking. If they succeed in saving money they should pass that savings on to the people who actually work and pay for everybody else. It's the average joe who works and pays his taxes that is hurting not the welfare recipient. Average joe is on the edge of going under and if he goes under the whole system will collapse.

What do you expect? New York is the only state where you can STAY ON WELFARE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. No only this, but certain other states will actually PAY their welfare residents who have exhausted their state benefits TO RELOCATE TO NEW YORK TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM US. Other states are dumping their surplus populations on us.

The vast majority of people, only stay on welfare temporarily. It is only a minority that abuse it.While people like this disgust me,I don't want to punish people who are just in need of a little help. What bothers me more,is corporate welfare. There are companies that pay ceos umpteen millions of dollars a year, and get help from the govt. financially.Exxon and GE are just 2 examples.Welfare is welfare,no matter who gets it.

Here's a little FYI:
Eligible families may receive up to 60 months of federally funded cash assistance under the Temporary Aid to Needy Families Program (TANF). Single individuals without children may receive benefits under the New York State Safety Net Program. Also, families who have received cash assistance for 60 months may continue to receive benefits under the New York State Safety Net Program (which is modified) meaning the money goes directly to utility providers, landlords etc. So no cash directly to participant.

Now here's a link:
http://www.empirejustice.org/assets/pdf/issue...

Folks need to EDUCATE themselves on facts, not hearsay. You can NO longer stay on Welfare indefinitely. Your only allowed to stay on it 60 months (5 years) and also you have to work or look for work while receiving cash assistance. Food stamps and Fidelis however you can receive indefinitely as long as you qualify by your income. The only thing I can think of that people receive for the rest of their lives are SSI or disability. So I'm not sure what people are bitching about. I've heard of many people faking problems with their kids to get a SSI check for the child!! If my taxes are helping another family eat and get health insurance I'll gladly pay them!
