Think he made a great point , it has nothing to do with race. stop shuttin the damn bridge down. If white folk tried a stunt like that they'd all be at gitmo for an extended visit. do it somewhere else and keep the traffic flowing. some people cant make their living by going under the bridge they have to use it instead .
lol another racist..keep hating, stay broke, keep drinking polluted water

not racist here. The point is your only causing problems for the bluecollar people. shutting the bridge down does nothing but hurt your neighbors. its goverment you want change from . use your head and go shut down parliment start a camp out on their front yard. You dont understand that government is your problem not your white neighbors.
Who ever said you were my enemy? Not me, its the people of massena who come on this site to try to prove authority over us..when really your remarks prove racism and ignorance...I'm not calling you stupid...nothing like that, you could learn before you speak ur just too ignorant to do so...we hurt nobody that day..everybody was aware of the closing and would have come to my ppl with there problem and in fact one person did and was let through fairly easily..research my white friends...at least if you wanna feel above us. I don't understand how this is just a native thing. Your throwing these ideas around, why don't you go protest your way and we ours. Look into the facts. We have given enough power to the gvt, in a sense they can control lives. This peaceful protest was one of many more to come. Protect our land or fight with us because were native? I take it back u are stupid for picking the unrelated answer. There were many bridge closings not just cornwall..we rose awareness, now if you remember oka back in the day, and this was anything like it..I could understand the negative publicity but this was different..another thing..

Really? The race card!? Unfreakingbelieveable! I would dare say 1/2 of your population engages in illegal activity, running around wanting all the laws in their favor. Any Mohawks involved in Canadian government? That is how all civilized people in 2013 solve things. Don't shut down a bridge. I wonder how many law enforcement officers had to be on hand for that, as your relatives were running all their goods on the ice/snow/water of the river. I am guessing you don't pollute that with sleds and boats that get sunk when they are caught right? It is only the white man who polluted it. I forgot. Who is racist? Seriously, put up a huge fence around the reserve, and call it yours, nobody on, nobody off. Self-sustain and stop bitching about how the rest of the world goes about their business! Sick and tired of the 'poor us' mohawks. Border patrol says this border here is more armed and dangerous than the mexican border....I am sure its not to protect your land is it? Stop the criminal activity and laziness, and produce some productive people and then talk to us! I think the white people should shut down the Casino for a day or a few gas stations, just to protest all of the tax money spent on law enforcement out there unnecessarily! Would you want the publicity then?

And there it is, exactly why we feel the way we do about indians, they are always trying to solve things with violence first. Don't blame anyone for racism except yourself, you push racism forward with your violent way of thinking. Stop taking hand outs from the US and Canadian governments and support yourselves. You hate us and our governments until it's time for your handouts then you are right there drooling for the money, that's exactly why nobody takes you seriously.

It's people who use words like " savage " and say things like, "put a fence around the reserve, no one off, no one in", that keep racism alive.

Did you know they put us savages in residential schools from 1884 to around 1941? Parents had NO CHOICE but to let strangers take their children. In these schools they were beaten if they spoke their language. Many were molested, both physically and psychologically. This was the governments way of dealing with " the Indian Problem ". I'm sure somewhere in your family history, you had relatives who felt the same, that we were a PROBLEM, just lazy savages.

We've come a long way, baby! They tried to destroy us, we didn't let them.

If you knew more about us, I doubt you would be so harsh in your judgement of us.

You have absolutely no problem being in our schools and colleges for free now. Most of the indians are committing illegal activity as their only source of income, you have hardly come a long way, baby. Support yourselves and stop taking government handouts from the US and Canada and then you can say you have come a long way.

No it won't, indians aren't supportive enough of each other to inflict a devastating boycott on Massena. I have never seen a sect of the population steal so much from their own families as I have seen indians steal from their own families. I have worked for several indian families and their families are not allowed around unless they are home because they steal from their own families. Indians are only out for themselves individually not collectively. You will never get the indians to collectively boycott Massena. That would require work and we all know how much you indians hate that four letter word.

And the amount that you spend will not hurt Massena. Unless you can get 80% or better to join you it won't amount to anything. Like I said indians are out for themselves individually, that's why they steal from their own families so much instead of non family members, it's easier and less "work". You will never get them to collectively do sh*t. How many were at the protest, anywhere near 80% of the population, I highly doubt it, walking that far requires "work".

And for the court records, here's Mayor "Retardo" Hidy's response to the bridge closure.

Instead of boycotting Massena, just help us tar and feather these two jokers and run them out on the rail. That would please many.

That "free money" as you call it, is the governments way of paying rent. There were agreements made, treaties, and promises. Not too long ago, Canada apologized for the atrocities that were done to Indian children in the residential schools. Schools the governments made these kids go to where they would be educated and made to be like everyone else. They tortured so many children. Many died, far away from home. Many that got to go home, were never the same. So it's not free now is it?
We truly have come a long way, whether you agree or not. We know this.

Clearly you aren't willing to hear some truth...this idea that Native people receive everything for free is untruthful and actually ridiculous.
I believe you could resolve a lot of this stress and anger you seem to have towards Kanien'keha people...learn something about the culture and language and take a minute to learn if any if your beliefs have any legitamacy. I believe your negative and deragatory views are the most toxic to yourself....

I am a true white american. I am living my life thru black,Yellow, red, green, jewish, catholic, etc. who cares right? Now this topix is about the indians. When we bought manhatten, new york for 13 dollers and a bottle of whiskey. Threw them on a reservation. Called them dumb asses. Who is the dumb ass now? This a no brainer. The indians are making millions of dollars on the rez or where ever they can. All i want to say is. I had nothing to do with this crap. Whether it was from my great, great, grandparents or not. I am with you indians. Stick up to what belongs to you and your rights as a human being. Our goverment sucks. I will put myself in arms way to help on this demonstration. White man joins DEMONSTRATION. Go and get what is rightfully yours. Go get them BIG BOYZ.
