What scumbag's......., my brother called them up and told them not to take the $100.00 out of his account because it was for his rent and he would pay it the following week and they said "okay"., then they took it anyway's. then when he called them back and told them they took it anyway's. they said "they could come and get the t.v and he still was'nt going to get his money back".
So the best thing I can do to Aarons is get the word out and not to give them your account number at all. cause if you need thet money in your account to keep a roof over your kid/kid's head to keep them dry and safe from harm and weather. "{THE BEST THING IS NEVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER TO ANYONE}". Aaron's stuff is well over priced...., cheaper than rent a center.......,"[MY A**]".

I was just reading the thread here about "why are there so many scumbags in this town"? Not my question, I was going to post a reply to the most recent one posted and instead I saw yours. Let me start by saying, only those who are scumbags will call another a scumbag. It must be slang language for adults who only know how to act like children! I don't ever use that word in reference to another person, but as I have been reading more on topix I see why people like you are phrased in this way.

First off, if your brother had any smarts at all he would not have given his account number out to anyone.

Second, anyone who goes through Aarons is just stupid because they are a rip off.
I think Aarons is a place where people like you or your brother can get luxurious items for a low weekly cost with a very high interest rate, do you realize that in the end when the purchase is paid off you have paid twice as much for it, if not more?

Third if he could not make the payment because he had to pay for the roof over his kids head then he should have established a better budget for his finances.
If he could not afford the payments then why make the purchase?

Finally, you get on topix and make complaints about how your brother was ripped off by them, and say they are the problem? Ya, you sound like you are the smart one, enough said!

It's not a good idea in general to have auto bill pay unless you and your financial situation are very stable. If Aarons called your brother and his payments were current and they said to him, your tv isn't going to work for a week, He would not be happy. Using kids for an excuse is just lame too. The kids don't care if it's an old glass screen tv or a flat screen.

All the rent to own places are nothing but dirt bags that cater low life scum. The customer is in charge and calls the shots. One of my friends worked there this ghetto ass women he worked with tried him every day and blammed everything on him. The manager did nothing about because he was banging her. Then they accussed him of making racial comment, which he didn't say. I went to pick him up at rent a center because he quit. The women attacked him, he slammed her to the ground. WHen the cops came, they told this off the wall story. He made a complaint to corporate, then corporate sent him papers thinking that he was going to sue the company. THe people that work there are just as ghetto as they people they service. THey need to clean up that industry asap.

i had a bad experiance with them,i had to get the attorney generals office involved,in which case i won,my washer broke,and i didnt have the money to purchase a new one so i called aarons and asked what they had reasonable,they informed me they had a set,front loaders very nice almost new condition,black,they gave me a set price to buy them over 12 months,2 weeks after i got them the pump in the washer went,these were very high priced loaded with options washer and dryer...i was outta town taking care of my very sick mother at the time,so my boyfriend was home the next day when they brought another set that they were gonna "swap out" for the same price,4 days later i got home and was pissed,the washer and dryer they "swapped out"was a cheap 3 settings washer and dryer that retailed for about $700 dollars less brand new,i called them and said why would i wanna pay the same for a cheaper set? come on,i can buy the cheaper set new for about $700 less then this set used,if i wanted the cheap set i would have talked a deal on that one,they said i was commited to pay for it for 3 months weather i wanted "this"one or not....well,that wasnt the one i signed a contract for,it wasnt the one i wanted so why do i have to purchase something i dont want because the one i wanted broke and could not be fixed? so they said they would come get it,after 7 days they finally came to get it and wanted to charge me a late fee on it for not paying for it when i told them to come and get it 4 days before it was due...i contacted the attorney generals office and they got it straightened out,i did not have to pay for something i didnt sign for or want...after i spoke with them i got a loan for a new set at lowes,i will never go through them again,they tried to take advantage of me and my situation but in the end,they lost!!

That is how they make money by people not fulfilling their obligations. The sad part of this is there is no depreciation on the contract price of the goods. They can sell the same couch or laptop 8 to 10 times for the same price as new.

Same can be said for people selling houses on a land contract. The seller does so with high hopes the buyer screws up so they can take possession of the property. The seller gets to keep the down payment and all other payments up until the time of default. Unscrupulous ? Perhaps but some have made some good free money doing it.

Any rent to own places are nothing but rip offs period. For the price you pay for their junk you could easily save up that money and buy brand new, in some cases in a matter of a few months, and if you fail to make your payments you loose all the money you already paid and don't have anything to show for it. Might as well wipe your a$$es with the money your wasting overpaying for stuff.

If you need to go to a rent-to-own place, your credit rating is probably shit anyway. If you pay your bills on time you will have good credit and will be able to get a better interest rate. Quit blaming Aaron's that you cant pay THEM because your rent is due. That's not THEIR problem. You dont HAVE to have a TV so don't rent-to-own one if you cant pay for it. People like you make me want to vomit. I am a landlord who has rented to scumbags like you for way too long. Always have an excuse why you can't pay. Get a life.
