Haas charged with stealing nearly $6,000 from Massena Little League

A former volunteer treasurer for Massena Little League, Inc. has been charged with grand larceny after allegedly stealing nearly $6,000 from the community's youth baseball organization.

Her brother and sister can tell you Donna and her hubby steal from anybody they can. They are in West Potsdam now. They move around cause they don't pay the rent and when they move out they steal anything that isn't tied down.They even syphon fuel oil out of the tank and sell it. She bought a plaque for the scouts that cost around $40 and she collected around $90 kept the change.That sweet smile of hers is all fake.

I am surprised she is let into the Scouts. If scouts did a background check on all the places they have rented from in the last 5 years they would get an earful. Neighbors had problems with gas being stolen out of their cars and when the moved the problem stopped.Liars and thiefs.

The groups like Boy Scouts,Girl Scouts, 4-H, Little Leauge, etc, should do a background check on ALL of the adults involved with the children.

Topix is quite the forum. My first time looking at some of the forums and reading what people actually say about others and their families. I read about four and saw some threats, degrading comments, disgusting comments and the list goes on. Wow what kind of people would write these things. I am not only referring to this forum. I only hope the perfect people posting on here never see their name. I am also amazed that so much information is being put on here. It could only be from someone involved in the organization or a family member of theirs. That does not say much for the new regime. Enough is enough. Now the board and their members must have been told about due process. Let it happen. I am sure the perfect people posting here have never had affairs on their spouses, left their wife and children more than once, had family members with light or heavy fingers, DWI, assaulted others etc. or have had their own children in these scenarios. Would anyone want that aired in this useless site. Lets be the perfect adults and citizens that you are and act like that. There is good in all of us. Lets try to find it. There is so much more tragedies going on in life. We should be praying for all the parents and families who just lost their loved ones in a senseless shooting. My prayers go out to the families in Ohio. Hug your loved ones

I know from personal experience that Little League does require background checks on any adult who has regular and repetitive access to the players. Scouting requires two deep leadership whenever there are adults and children together. Whether or not the people involved at the local level actually follow the rules and regulations in place is another matter entirely.

Temper and language usage won't show up on a background check. They are primarily concerned with crimes against a minor.
