And the catholic religion isn't taught or a part of any of the curriculum? This teaches without preaching, accepting scientific fact? There are no catholic practices that non Catholics are expected to take part in?

I sent three children through the Massena Central School System. They turned out fine. It starts at home.

And believe it or not, there were some Trinity Children that they graduated with that were not the best citizens in the world.

Quit stereotyping, take charge of your kids and support their teachers. It's a simple formula.

I feel it is about time this town offers another choice for parents. I agree it does start at home...but we can not control how other families raise their children. This town, parents, old farts do support teachers!!! This is more of an issue of this town having a choice. I do not see anything wrong with that!

Certified teachers or nuns, or both? Keep the religion out of the classroom, unless you welcome all faiths and their practices.

this is why this town never strives! too many people fighting over stupid little issues! this is just another option for parents!

BTW IFO---not all staff over at trinity are nuns! maybe you should go to that meeting they are talking about and see for yourself before you start making false statements just to stir up trouble.

there are many families in that school who are not catholic. it is just another option! why is having choices for our children a bad thing?

I am an honors graduate of the mchs class of 2002. I am also an honors graduate of the tcs class of 1996. When I was in trinity, there was only one nun teacher and the principal was also a nun. Both ladies had their teaching degree and were very professional about it and also excelled as teachers. Religion was indeed taught at the school, right along science and even *gasp* evolution. The religion class was only to educate the students on the Catholic religion. Questions were more than welcome. The staff that was employed there at the time was phenomenal and deserve pats on the back. If anyone is considering sending their child(ren) to tcs, not only do I recommend that decision, I'll support it.

I am in favor of this! I have seen up close the state taking away programs from the public schools. I do not see this as a competition in our town! I see it as a way to better the children!!!!! If MCS STAFF could offer the same programs at the level Trinity is, we would of already done so. This topic should ONLY be about what this town can do to help our children. Since the state keeps making it difficult for the public, there should be no fighting over other avenues to take in educating our children.
I have marked the time & date of this meeting and plan on going just to see for myself.

We sent our child to Trinity and he was continually bullied even after the school was made aware of it. It finally ended when I threatened a lawsuit against the school, teacher and the bully's parents if they didn't stop the abuse. It wasn't just name calling they were hitting him.

Every school has issues they have to handle. Every school has good and bad kids. AND Every school has the right to TRY to make their school better the best they can! ALL schools try to do this!!!!! I agree with the comment about "this not being a competition" Why ATTACK a school for TRYING to better their school for children? It is not a question on religion it is a question of what PARENTS want for their families!!!

I grew up in the public schools, so I understand "some" of these comments! But I also think that Trinity is just trying to do their best!!!!!People should GO TO THE MEETING!!!!! It Won't Hurt You To Be Informed!!!!!

Thanks to the catholic schools in Massena, I am not a catholic anymore.Public school was the best thing to ever happen to me.I got involved in sports and activities.I also learned that my life could be anything I wanted. It did not depend on how much $$$$ my parents made, like it did in catholic school. The teachers were NOT good at all.My education took a step up when I hit the eighth grade end of the catholic prison and got to be part of the real world.

it is funny to me that people will attack other people over such an issue! This whole conversation is simple and in black and white!!!!! It is ONLY stating that there is another choice as to where to send their children for junior high! It has nothing to do with being catholic or not! It has nothing to do with how much parents make! It is not a competition to the public schools!!! People are turning a positive into an argument and it does not need to be! There is no reason why this town can't offer another junior high school. People forget this town used to have MANY children who attended the catholic schools!!!!! ASK YOUR PARENTS & GRAND PARENTS!!!!! And to the CATHOLIC GIRL---I am not catholic but do send my child to Trinity!!! Those teachers over there have HEARTS like no other! Those teachers love their students as their own! One of the best things about that school is the STAFF---without them it would not work as great as it does! That school is one tight unit! It does not matter how much money parents make! It does not matter what your family dynamics are or your social status! EVERYONE walking into that school is treated equal...and when one (students/staff/parents/anyone ) needs help for what ever reason that school bonds together and stop at nothing to make sure they get what they need!!!!! I grew up in the public school system and respect teachers!!!!! But non of us have any control over what the state is doing to them! So having a choice is a GOOD thing. If people don't want to attend the meetings or send their children to Trinity then don't! But please do not think this is a competition of schools!!!!!!!! There is no need for the fighting on this!!!!

My children were enrolled in trinity...my son was bullied...not only by the children, but by the teacher....yes, the teacher!! the children only followed her direction...I pulled my children from trinity and since then, we have never contributed in church to ANYTHING involved with trinity!!!!!!!!! why would a great teacher want to teach at trinity when the pay is so low...is it because of religion, or that they cannot get a job elsewhere....think about it!!!!!!!!!!

the kids at trinity are taught that they are the chosen ones and are better than the kids that go to public schools. religion is shoved down their throats. go ahead and send your kids to trinity and have them sheltered and pampered. they will have to go to public school when entering highschool sooner or later. it's a tough world out there. LOL is right. half the kids turn out to be spoiled righteous brats. public school teachers and students live in reality..not like the trinity teachers and students who believe money and clothes and whether you attend church on sunday matter.
