He can still show up to court and testify. He would be subpeonad so he would have to appear by law. Not a lover, not a hater. Just speaking the truth. If you did the crime then pay your fine. Sounds just like what O 'Donnell tried...a way to get out of it. That makes you no better than him.

In the US, you are "innocent until proven guilty".. ever heard that?

Besides, "administrative leave" with pay is probably part of the policemen's union rules".

There are rules/regulations to follow and unless you are a jury member, nobody should be writing such judgemental things. Leave it to the system that we live by in this country. Everyone has that right as a citizen...even you if you get into trouble. I'll bet you'd be demanding your lawyer to get you out of it and screaming your rights as a citizen. The man obviously has a drinking problem and needs help. I HATE drunk drivers and have little sympathy for them if they are found guilty but let's calm down and let the system work.

Just because someone is a police officer...it makes them no less subject to "human error" than that of a doctor, lawyer, judge, priest, or best of intention citizen. They have a life and are entitled to one when off duty. I'm sure Officer O'Donnell didn't set out to intentionally drink to excess or to break the law....Mistakes happen...and thankfully no one was injured. Should he be reprimanded for his actions...sure, just like any other citizen would be...but should he lose his job? Absolutely not!! I think the key word here is HUMAN..Why is it that when someone in uniform does something wrong...there are certain people who just lay in wait to pounce and judge them....where are they when this same officer is doing good things while in the line of duty and protecting your home, or family? If only PERFECT people were hired to serve the community in any capacity....we would have very few, if any, on the job.

To all of you who have tickets from Mike, please don't respond to them or show up for court. Im sure they will just over look the fact that he issued or arrested you!No worries! The other police officers will come get you when they issue a warrant or suspend your license.

shouldn't have to praise him up and down when all he is doing is HIS JOB that he gets PAID for!!!!! He elected to become a police officer he knew what the job requirements were when he sighned up for the job when was the last time you were praised up and down for doing what your SUPPOSED to do and are being PAID to do. he was seen out drinking from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm anyone should have know to take cab so don't say oh he's human he just made a mistake HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WAS WRONG AND CHOSE TO IGNORE IT HE ALSO LEFT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT TO WAKE HIS NEIGHBOR UP AND ASKED HIM TO SAY HE WAS DRIVING THE NEIGHBOR REFUSED I SUPPOSE THAT WAS JUST A MISTAKE TOO!!!!! and i know this for a fact because the accident happened right in front of my house and the troopers asked me about what i saw and told me about the whole neighbor thing because i know them and they knew it was going to be all over the newspaper the next day anyways

You are right. Any system that makes you accountable for your own actions has to be corrupt. Like getting a ticket for breaking the law. Retard!!!

I'am just telling people how to save a few bucks in these hard times. And make the justice system earn their money. Everyone should always take their cases to trial. seatbelts to stop sign tickets. Don't be ignorant of your legal rights, confused and intimidated by the courts and police, most people ticketed simply pay up like fools

You don't need to do anything to beat anything in St Lawrence County. Just sick back and wait and the DA's office will reduce it to something insignificant like spitting on the side walk.
