Keep in mind that less than 30 years ago, kids used to play outside for hours unsupervised. Now it is an offense to leave your kids alone in the car while you pay for your gas.

Wah. You guys. Seriously? She's a good mother. She does everything for her kids that she possibly can. She one of the best moms that I know. If you actually knew her and didn't assume then you wouldn't be saying stupid shit. She doesn't abuse or neglect her kids in anyway. Just because her kids decided to go across a highway doesn't reflect her parenting. I'm pretty sure she's not the only parent that makes mistakes..

If any of you knew anything you would know that they are her grandchildren n not her children... Yeah she might have ten of her own kids that are grown but it takes a lot to step up to the plate n adopt 4 grand kids n raise them as your own cuz her daughter sure n the hell can't take care of them ... So why don't you people worry abt your own mess in your backyards

Ok so this woman gets in trouble but it is just fine for the school board not to have bussing for childen 5 yrs and up and they r considered WALKERS across a dbl lane highway when half the time the damn crossing guard is not even there on time so these kids prolly think that there is no problem with crossing the highway since they do it all school year and half the time alone bc like I said the crossing guard is rarley ever there on time that I just find crazyness all elementary childen shld have busses they shl have a pick up spot so they don't have to stop at every individual house this transfer crap is retarded just get some more busses and we wldnt be having this problem !!! Y do we pay school taxes again ? Not for bussing apartently .

She stepped up and adopted them so they didn't get separated in different foster homes so they could grow up together

You have to just sit back and consider that 90% of the people that post on this site have no life, cuz if they did they wouldnt be sitting behind a computer sticking their noses where it doesnt belong. Leave people alone!!! Mind your own damn business and maybe just maybe Massena wouldnt be such a disgraceful town to call home .

Rarely there on time??!!! I find that hard to believe. If the crossing guard was that bad, the crossing guard would have been fired a long time ago.

If she is one of the best mothers you know, you must know some pretty shitty moms. And jsuk, children should always be taught about road safety. Especially if the biggest highway in massena happens to be in their backyard. Therefore, it does reflect her unacceptable parenting. Btw, I'm not assuming anything. I drive by that area quite often and I'm always very alert near their house because I'm already expecting these children to be in the road.

Get real. The town of Massena is not the negligent one......... It's the parent who does not seem to care where her children are. Also, she appearantly has not taught her children about the dangers of the road.

I agree, you can't blame the town on this.

Years ago there were more neighborhood kids. We were aware of the dangers and respected our parents rules. We played well together and looked out for each other. Many of the parents encouraged us to play together and there were very few bullies. Other kids parents would take us into their homes if they thought we needed to warm up when we have been out sliding in the snow too long. Those were better times. Our parents did care and set limits. Children listened to their parents and all was well. Also, we asked permission to go into another neighbors house or go play in a field. Our fathers worked and worked hard and our mothers worked very hard to raise several children in the same household while maintaining a safe home environment. Our parents stood by each other when it came to rules and discipline. Today, there are far too many single parent homes making their child raising a bigger challenge. That does not excuse them for neglecting their children and letting them wander across a four lane highway.
