She does not make the costumes - you buy them from a professional costume company. There is a recital in June every year held at the high school. The kids work very hard on it. They also perform at the Heritage Festival. There is a performance team, which you pay extra for and they perform at the nursing home, the mall, travel, etc. It can get quite costly but you can do fundraisers to offset the cost.

I have been dancing there for about 17 years minus a couple years in the middle where I tried another studio. The staff is wonderful, tuition is reasonable. Dancing is FUN there.

Hey opinion...don't look here for info that will help you in your life...seriously! This site is for unemployed losers to voice their worthless opinion that is always negative! You want info... go there like I did tonight! Orrr... you have a computer, jump on their site. Don't ask here unless you want nothing but negative comments that are probably unfounded!

Gotta Dance does NOT use homemade costumes. They are ordered from professional dance costume catalogs. hardly anything wrote: it is run by jane dubray. the classes are in her basement - special floor - and she makes the costumes. hope that helps

common sense wrote: Gotta Dance does NOT use homemade costumes. They are ordered from professional dance costume catalogs. <quoted text> Homade is better and more meaningful. Most people find it more beautiful to see a handmade item by a local talent. I've seen two comments now that seem defensive over the homade comment. Its not a bad thing that anyone needs to jump and defend. I personally found that aspect to be an attractive part of the whole review of the place.

That studio has the worst choreographers ever. Get with the times. Yeah dancing is "fun" there if you just want to dance for the hell of it, but if you are looking to actually have a future in dance I would recommend Tap to Toe. They have great choreographers who have professional backgrounds who keep their styles up to date as time changes. The competition team competes in many places around the country. The bond between the dancers there are like family. Many dancers that danced there have went off and made professional careers out of their talent that they have learned. But if you don't want to learn any cool up-to-date awesome choreography, then go have "fun" at Gotta Dance. lol

On the other hand, Gotta Dance is welcoming to all and fosters camaraderie between the dancers. It is truly a place to nurture the friendships that should develop as dancers work together toward a common goal. After years of competitive dance as a focus, it has evolved and is now a wide-ranging dance center for the very young through the very young at heart; everything from the exploration of rhythm for toddlers up to "wedding" dance classes and ballroom dance for the more "mature". If this sounds like an advertisement, I will assure you I am not affiliated with the studio, but have been an observer for all years Gotta Dance has been in existence...going back through the early 90's!! An amazing lady and her equally dedicated family have made dance more accessible and enjoyable for all!!

I don't care how great they are,I would never go into that dirty, rat infested building. There are pigeons living on the top floor.Do you have any idea what kind of diseases those birds carry?Even the front walk is gross.
